[ It was inevitable that they fell on each other, shoving at clothing, and rolling in the beaten grass of their training grounds. Hei's knife was left point first some distance away, flung there after Conrad parried a blow. Conrad's gun was left abandoned on the side, his own knife embedded in a tree.
And then it was just them, silently flowing through parry after parry, kicking high, flowing into a feint as one or the other dropped down low. There was only the sound of their breath and the challenge in their gaze. Rivals, and not even in the heat of the moment would they forget it.
