[home sweet home] returning to your world ; meme

You wake up in your bed, maybe. Somewhere. Somewhere you know.

Familiar scents fill your nose, the scents of home. You get up and look around and you come to a stunning, breath-taking (and sickening?) realization. You're home again. Somehow, just now, you were whisked away from that strange place you were, for however long you lived there, with how many people you came to know, and plunked down in your home, your own world. The bubble popped and now you're left wondering... was that even real? Could it have been?

What do you do now?

The phone's ringing. Maybe you should answer that.

How To Play

- Comment to the thread with your character. It will be their "world" they've returned to.
- Other people comment to them, reconnecting or awakening next to them in that home world.
- The where, when, setting & that sort of thing are up to you!
- Freak out, panic, try to figure what to do next.

Bonus:

- Work in a time difference, Lake House style!
- Is something off about this home world? Is it even really yours?

[Neither does he. Not at all. He hates that he needs to, even more with the way her grip tightens on him. Still, that's not a topic he wants to bring up again and they should at least try one case to see how it goes. Who knows, maybe she'll benefit from being on her own for a while?

Not thinking about that now. Right now he's happy with kissing and dancing and pretending that time isn't a thing.]

[The blush is good. She's smiling again. It's not so impossible to leave her burdens behind for a little while when they are like this.] And this is what I mean about you being cute.

[She always accepted her father's job would support him, her, and her mother. She supposes there is no reason to think Reid can't afford extra food and clothes. She nods, unsure if saying thanks is awkward, but she is grateful. But not so grateful that she's going to pass on her request.]

[It's a silent agreement, this thing they got going here. There was never any doubt in his mind about whether or not he'd take care of her or support her, at least until she was ready to do it herself and even then it was about whether or not she would want to. Either way he makes enough for money to not be a problem.

He tilts his head a little at the request, curious.]

Anything. Well, maybe not anything but... within reason, sure. What is it?

	I have one at work. [Explains all. Also... oh wow 96 this might seem like proper sci-fi. He pulls back a little to dig out his phone, holding it out for her to take should she want.] And if I need to check my email when I'm not at my desk, I can just use my phone. [Sorry, she's from a sci-fi world complete with technomancers and alien technology infusions. Granted their communication tools were closer to what they used in the prison than what he's holding out to her.] Oh. [No look of shock.] I guess that makes sense. Kind of... [She just needs more than that. Definitely more than email. Who would email her besides Reid and he would call.]
