[October F.]
[Sent to October F. at his place of work, as there can't be that many doctors named October in Las Vegas: a present. The card says, in large loopy letters, Thank you for your assistance. - Sunny & The Doctor]

[When the package arrives, there's confusion, initially, but the laughter that comes at the pop up blocks echoes down the hallway from his office. Moments later, a message through the journals from October]

There was no need to thank me, but you are welcome, nonetheless. Things have been better, I presume?

Considering my laughter had four nurses ducking in to make sure that I was all right, yes, I liked them.

And I'm glad to know that there's been progress. I was just thinking of contacting you when the package came.

This Doctor sounds like an... interesting person. Truly interesting, which cannot be said for many people here, I've found.

I can't say. He's too big for one thing. He's not even a concept. He's a force. It's not... nice. But he is nice, sometimes. And sometimes he's not. We blend up.

He made the puzzle, but it was my idea.

But you're managing with him, now? That is the important thing, I've found.

[...] Thank you. For the puzzle, and the smile. The nurses here say I don't smile enough.

We go back and forth and up and down and all the other ways, too. It's like being off balance all the time, don't really like it much.

Why do you not smile enough?

I would say that I can only imagine, but I'm not entirely sure I can do that given what you have told me of him.

Too serious, I'm told.

People need someone they can rely on to be there when they need it. I can't be that person if I'm more concerned with myself. I have to put that aside in favor of them. I chose this career, and I knew quite well what I was getting into.
