Jude M
Locking three of your family members in a basement would be considered kidnapping, would it not?

Your dedication to family is admirable but your continual lying for her is making me trust you less and less.

Grand. Are they both felonies?

I partly became a lawyer so I could protect this family, Alexander. I would do the same for any of you.

Yes. A defense could be made for if the kidnapped members were consenting adults, if it was unintentional kidnapping in the heat of the moment, and they weren't sufficiently moved far enough. Across state lines is serious, but in a case like this, they're more likely to be lenient if they were dealing with a bickering family. It also depends on if the family members will press charges and how serious they are about it.

This isn't court, it's family. One is a lot more likely to be lenient than the other.

No, this has been plotted, no spur of the moment thing here.

I know, I'm hoping that leniency will pay off.

First degree is a type A felony, second is type B. Both can lead to jail time, depending on the amount of people, their ages, whether there was weapons or force involved, who wants to press charges, etc.

In Medieval times, traitors were drawn, hanged, beheaded, disemboweled and quartered. Anything short of that is quite lenient.

And you wonder why I assume you mean her harm.

No. I wonder why you'd choose her over those of us that have never betrayed our family.

I'm not choosing anyone.

Not like Clementine, who decided to throw in her fate with a pack of dogs too stupid to find their way out of a paper bag.

She didn't choose them, she thought it would end the war between us. Which was undeniably stupid and I've said as much.

You don't think she's chosen? That she hasn't chosen to make her own peace with them and to save herself?

It's crossed my mind No, absolutely not. She got into this for the wrong reasons so it's not terribly surprising she makes a mess of it later on. She thought it was as simple as killing the girl and then Chloe gets Neil.

[After this mess.]

I need you to get Chloe under control, Alexander. She's been leaving her security, hiding in different locations, now she says she's going somewhere without us. I certainly can't control her.

She's a free woman, Jude. I'll talk to her, but she isn't nearly the threat that Clementine is.

Clementine is not a threat. She has her Supergirl under control now.

You're my brother, Alex. I've looked up to you as far back as I can remember. But we hurt strangers and people less than us, not family.
