Why would it be bad? Trivial, perhaps.

There's not a lot that I want, honestly.

Or rather, nothing that I want that anyone can give me.

Everyone has wants.

The only thing I truly want is my children back.

So very sad. And yet not exactly within my capacity, which you know. So you're being trite.

So, hair combs then. I'm not demanding.

Which is dull. You're not being very entertaining.

I am sorry for that. I haven't been here long, so I'm still feeling a bit apprehensive.

And given time, you'll break or survive. Everyone does.

I hope to be counted among the survivors. I was almost broken - once - and I don't intend for that to happen again.

The children. Your story hasn't advanced, with you living it? There is no crevasse of innovation, of something that hasn't been told a thousand times?

I have been searching for my children for years upon years. That is advancing, is it not? But the rest... your words confuse me. I am sorry.

Advancing would be completion, or giving up. To search is stasis. To remain at the same point in the story always.

Yes, I'm not surprised.

I can't give up on them, though. It may be stasis, as you say, but I can't simply... give up on finding them. I wouldn't want my mother to give up on me.

That's a cruel thing to say.
