[Locked to Dolores C.]

She's fine.

[Locked to Nicholas S.]

Forgive me for not catching up with you sooner. I hope you've been well?

[Locked to Chloe M.]

Did you file the restraining order?

Winning is defined by her getting what she wants, there's what she says, what everyone thinks, and then the truth. [...] For what?

But she's not happy, is she? Which means she's not getting what she wants. [...] For plotting? I do it in games all the time, and I don't think anything of it.

She is never happier than when people are paying attention to her. [...] No, not in the least. But I so very rarely plot against those that haven't done my family some harm.

So the misery is fake? [...] What if your family is in the wrong? Does it matter?

Temporary, not fake. [...] Chloe has done things to drive people away from her. I cannot defend her for that. But I can defend her because she is my sister, and I can when people are blatantly wrong. And I can repay them for what they've said, regardless of whether she was right or wrong.

No, I meant overall. Hypothetically, not specific to Chloe. World view and so on.

I was using her as the example.

The family can know when one of us has done something wrong. As far as the rest of the world is concerned, the sun would be lucky to shine out of any member of my family's ass.

Where did you get that? Not from your parents.

My sisters.

When they have done something wrong and it cannot be denied, then it's simply 'No comment.'

You think all siblings are like this, and that's why you recommended I not get involved in Deacon's problems with his sister.

I know that if someone were to try, I would hide my time until their metaphorical or not so metaphorical head ended up on the wrong end of a spike. And on that day, I would walk up to them and wiggle my fingers at their lifeless eyes.

But he asked for my help. Doesn't that immediately make it different?

I think there's a difference between wanting to prove yourself and wanting revenge.

Even if proving himself is his revenge?

Everyone has something to lose, something most dear to them. Sometimes it's a person, sometimes a thing, sometimes it's an idea that they hold close to their heart that brings them hope. Revenge is taking it, whatever it may be, and making it yours instead of theirs and crushing them in the process.

Proving oneself is about elevating one's station in the eyes of others.

What if she's bad? It's possible. Being someone's sister doesn't mean she's automatically ready for sainthood.

You think it means she doesn't care about anything if she's "bad"?

It's between them, you said. You wouldn't deny Chloe her revenge. Why deny Deacon his?
