Kids make friends so easily. Em and the little blondie never even met before today but they hit it off in about two seconds.
I mean, it wasn't the world's most peaceful friendship -- I glanced away for like a second and they started fighting or something, and the other boy run up to his mum and started to tattle that Em had done something or other, I'm not actually sure what, I just know that I got instantly mad that he was accusing my baby. And I was just about to say something, but before I could do more than open my mouth the other mum said, "Matthew (or whatever his name was) you need to solve your own problems. If you don't like what he's doing, ask him to stop."
I was so surprised that I completely forgot to say anything, and it's a good thing I didn't because this is what happened next:
Matthew-or-whatever turned to Em, who'd followed him back over to us, and said very clearly, "Please not do that to me."
Em said, "Okay."
And they went right back to playing.
The moral of the story is, adults ruin everything. Or they can ruin everything or make everything better depending on how they use their powers. Point is kids are awesome.
Kids are also a fantastic excuse to buy amazing dresses, aka everyone is going to the youth league gala this weekend right, aka I will be the prettiest of all the princesses at the ball, just watch me.

Despite the hangover and the not-enough-sleep and all of it, I regret nothing.
Well, maybe the bit where we woke them up. Maybe got a bit too loud there. (But really, like we can be blamed.)
Sorry about him jumping on you in the morning. Four year olds don't know the meaning of hangover, apparently. Still. Better you than me?
