Battle of the Bands at Club Kidnap
Who: Fuyuki and Open
What: Chilling out and watching different groups play in a battle of the bands
Where: Club Kidnap
When: Random Friday night
Why: Its summer and it's fun

Fuyuki stood near the bar at Kidnap downing his third beer and checking out the people that came and went. Most of them were seniors, a lot were from the drama club, some were college students that heard from word of mouth. The whole thing seemed to be a pretty good success. He was glad that the owner had taken the idea of his and actually run with it. Mixing drinks with live music, and enough bodies to be classified as a Bacchanalia for the senses seemed to be a fun thing. The sounds of music throbbed a hard low bass beat over the speakers and couples, trying to show how mature they were, wer grinding on the dance floor to the hits that the second band was playing.

Fuyuki tipped back his head and laughed. Now this was what he had been missing dating that prep. Fun times, though she was the one that had gotten him into this scene. He bobbed his head to the music as he tapped his fingers against the top of the bar and looked out at the people that were hanging around. Waving at some he got up to prowl around the club and see if there was anyone to talk to.

"Well I could use a non fancy thing. I mean I wouldn't mind having a girlfriend, but I'm cool with just someone to hang out with. Sure why not." Fuyuki said smiling. "This friend of yours have a name? Oh, what do you mean by not your cup of tea?"

Fuyuki sighed some and drank the rest of his bottle then put his head down, "Let's put it this way, my ex was the sort of person that got mad at me if I canceled to go see my sick Aunt. I don't know, depends on what reason she had for believing the friend was scared. I mean if my friend got some weird letter or a phone call, you can be damn sure that I would try to see if I could help them, and I'd probably ask to reschedule the date, but if it wasn't something to serious, I guess not. Not sure, never really was in that situation before, so I don't know."

He looked incredulious at this, "No way. Get out of here. She stalked you? What? Is she one of those weird 'If you can't have her no one can' type of girls?"

Kanaye grinned. "Yoshimi Tachibana. And Kozue Kondo. Both would work, I'm sure they're looking for some fun." He shrugged. "I'm not very good at...what they do. Besides, I want something more, yaknow?"

Kanaye kept chugging as he listened. "That's rough, dude. I mean, I guess it makes sense, but..." He sighed. "She took her friend to her house and protected her THERE. And she passed out from all the stress! She never slept! It's kind of crazy..."

Kanaye laughed. "I think so!" Even drunk, he knew better then to let slip about paradise. Even so... "I mean, she said it was just because she wanted to be a better girlfriend to her boyfriend, but that's just BS."

"That's what I thought I wanted too. To be honest I still want it, but right now it's really hard. Dating someone for a long time, then finding out you're not good enough. Hits you hard," Fuyuki nodded, "Kondo-san, I hear she's been around town with Oubai. Not heard of this Tachibana-san, what's she like?"

Fuyuki thought a moment, "Bit over protective that one. Did she say why she was going and doing this?" Hearing about the passing out of stress he just laughed, "God, sounds like what I do a week before a show. No sleep at all and more often then not the cast and crew will find me sprawlled out on the floor half dead. Life of a crew and stage manager."

"Better girlfriend, that's an odd way of doing it. Maybe she was just, you know tailing because she thought she could get something on the two of you? don't tell me you dated the friend before," Fuyuki asked and got another beer for himself.

"Yeah, it does..." Kanaye pressed on rather quickly. "Oh, she's a nice girl. Clumsy, but she knows how to have fun. And she has a ferrets which is awesome!"

"Because my girlfriend thought she drove the best friend to try to kill herself 5 years ago, even though she really didn't. When Maeko found out, well..." Kanaye winced. "It was not pretty..."

"No, never did. I didn't even know she existed until this year. I mean, she's cute, I'd totally do her, but I wouldn't DATE her."

"Really, sounds like a nice girl. Clumsey? Don't tell me she's like one of those girls from anime where they always trip and flash some one. Oh that's cool I have a pet guinea pig." Fuyuki explained and grinned.

"Maeko...as in Akuba Maeko...the one they call the dragon sometimes?" Fuyuki shuddered. "Man...how the heck did you manage to date her? Wha? You mean the best friend you're talking about is Aoi-san? I heard she had tried to in Middle school. Went to the hospital and everything. Retsu-sempai was just starting to work there at the time and he was going on about it to everyone."

"Heh, you'd have to go through her older brother to try to do her." He laughed.

"No, unfortunately. She just trips and falls into things. Like metal poles. Of course, she gets drunk like us, but who cares, right?" Kanaye starts laughing. "Don't we all?"

Kanaye twitched and glared. "Maeko is not a dragon! I mean, sure, she's assertive, but she's very nice when she wants to be. Besides, she's cute, and I do like assertive women!" Kanaye smiled. "I just asked. She's not mean, after all. Just...protective." He shook his head. "She didn't."

"Which is exactly why I'm not bothering."

"Who's getting drunk? I'm just here to get buzzed." Fuyuki laughed good heartedly. He looked concerned at hearing about Yoshi's 'accident'. "She okay? A metal pole? How the hell?"

"Yeah she can be nice, except when she's not so nice." He shrugged. "She's cute, I guess, assertive, sort of. I wouldn't know to much the few times I've had to talk to her we wound up getting into a tense converstation about the funds for the crew managment for the drama club. Orders from Retsu, she said, she could have told him to get his ass down there and seen what we do with that money."

"I don't blame her being protective of Aoi though, that girl had a bulls eye on her back in middle school. I wouldn't have been suprised if she HAD been willing to hurt herself. There was a group that used to just be misrable to all the girls. Just really sad stuff." Fuyuki nodded his head. "You hear about things like that in the public schools but the privates like to keep it under wraps. They don't like living in the real world."

He glanced at Kanaye, "Really? You serious? How'd she get the scars then?"

"Pfffh, you'd probably be one of the few her brother Hikaru would let near her." Fuyuki laughed, "You look like the sort he might trust with her."

"same thing really!" Kanaye laughed. "Fuck if I know. She just..trips. Over everything."

"Well, she's usually nice to me..." He laughed. "She is, isn't she?" Kanaye looked defensive. "Gendou's a creep. She knows that if she does anything, he could ruin her or Misaki."

"Whatever. She really should learn to handle her own problems."

"Fuck if I know, ask her."

Kanaye laughed. "I wouldn't trust me with anybody."
