Tana-tana-tana-tanabata!
Who: EVERYONE
What: WISHES
Where: SHRINE
When: TANABATA
Why: TANABATA

It was a story of star crossed lovers. Literally.  Orihime and Hikoboshi, meeting up with one another for only one night a year, seperated by the Milky Way. This always seemed kind of stupid (you'd think they would get tired of only being able to be with the one they love for only one day out of the entire year) but humanity was always romantic, and so, their reunion was celebrated.

There was bamboo set up everywhere, with little pieces of paper on them. These pieces of paper held the wishes of everybody that came to the festival, in hope that one day, they too will be able to have their wish come true. They would be burned the day after, true, but just for one night, it seemed that anything could happen.

Everywhere you look, people in yutakas walked around. There were booths everywhere, and people playing at those booths. Really, it was quite nice.

Kanaye was having great pleasure in people looking at his yutaka in confusion. It was gold. Not actually the element, but it was definitely light, shiny, and pure gold in color. The contrast between it and every other yukata nearby was shocking to say the least.  He was waiting for Maeko, who hasn't shown up yet.

Festivals weren't so bad. Neat clothes to wear, neat things to do, plenty of sweets around to be purchased and eaten, and not even all of the annoying people who were running around like idiots bothered her that much. It was pretty entertaining overall. Unfortunately, she had made the mistake of going to the goldfish catching stand first. Every year she did her best to catch something and every year her father usually ended up catching a fish for her. However, this time her father had let her go off on her own. It was sort of nice to have a bit of independence, but she almost wished he was around to help.

Emi sighed to herself, pushing her the sleeves of her yukata up again so that they didn't get in the way. Time to try again. And... no go. She managed to pick one up, but the paper broke before she got it into the bowl. In silence, she lifted the busted paddle up and frowned at it. Why was it so hard to catch a stupid fish?!

Masami had just finished hanging up her wish, so she decided to wander around the stands a bit and see what there was to do. After grabbing some takoyaki to eat, she spotted Emi at a nearby stand, trying (with no success) to catch a fish.

"Emi-chan," she said as she approached, "do you want me to catch one for you?"
