Tana-tana-tana-tanabata!
Who: EVERYONE
What: WISHES
Where: SHRINE
When: TANABATA
Why: TANABATA

It was a story of star crossed lovers. Literally.  Orihime and Hikoboshi, meeting up with one another for only one night a year, seperated by the Milky Way. This always seemed kind of stupid (you'd think they would get tired of only being able to be with the one they love for only one day out of the entire year) but humanity was always romantic, and so, their reunion was celebrated.

There was bamboo set up everywhere, with little pieces of paper on them. These pieces of paper held the wishes of everybody that came to the festival, in hope that one day, they too will be able to have their wish come true. They would be burned the day after, true, but just for one night, it seemed that anything could happen.

Everywhere you look, people in yutakas walked around. There were booths everywhere, and people playing at those booths. Really, it was quite nice.

Kanaye was having great pleasure in people looking at his yutaka in confusion. It was gold. Not actually the element, but it was definitely light, shiny, and pure gold in color. The contrast between it and every other yukata nearby was shocking to say the least.  He was waiting for Maeko, who hasn't shown up yet.

"I, err..." He paused, flushing a moment. "I've actually never been to this festival here before. I didn't get to go last year. Dad sort of..."

He lowered his voice, and sighed audibly. "...made me wrestle on a show he was putting on."

That was one of those days he really wanted to forget.

"Would you mind showing me around, Mi-chan," he asked. "I really don't know what there is to do here."

Misaki took his arm in hers and smiled cheerfully, nodding. "Sure. We can go check out the games. There's one where you can win goldfish, but I usually give them back. I'd feel sort of bad if they died on me."

She blushed some and chuckled, "I'm sorry to hear that. We'll I'll make sure you have a great time here! Okay! We can walk around and um...if you see anything you want to do, let me know okay?"

A smile crossed his face as they began to walk around the festival. "Thanks, Mi-chan! You're the best!"

Looking around, it was amazing how different the place looked. Everyone was dressed in yukatas, and the decorations were exquisite. It was enough to take his mind off of all of the *other* problems that he had, extensive though that list was.

He just hoped that he didn't run into any of the people who were likely mad at him.

Misaki snuggled to his arm, "Oh did I mention to you that Kozue chan helped me watch some american movies. They were a lot of fun."

Misaki blushed deeply and shook her head, "No I'm not. I can be very selfish at times Keiichi-kun, and it's not fair to anyone." Misaki sighed but it was a happy sigh as she rested her head on his shoulde, "I"m just happy to know I'm here with someone that cares."

"Oh, they're going to have dancing and fireworks. Want to go watch later tonight?"

"I like a lot of American movies," he said. "My grandmother's from the States, so I sort of grew up with some of them."

Even if most of the American cultural education he got was from his dad bringing home Global Grappling Federation tapes to watch.

"We all have faults sometimes. No one's perfect." He shrugged. "You're the least selfish person I know, to be completely honest with you, so I don't know what makes you think you are."

Her head on his shoulder made him sigh softly, contentedly. "And of course. I love fireworks."

"You did, did you ever see a movie called the Princess Bride? It was a lot of fun. Can you tell me about living there! I didn't know you did," Misaki cheerfully asked.

Misaki sighed some, "Mostly because of what that shadow said. That I'm a burden to people like Akuba-san. Do...Do you think I am? I mean, the way I act? I really don't mean to be in all honesty."

Misaki grinned at the last comment and closed her eyes, "Yeah, me too. They're really a lot of fun."
