Who: Kanaye and whoever
What: Hopefully not MAEKO MAEKO MAEKO
Where: School
When: After School
Why: Kicks.

Kanaye was puzzled. He didn't have soccer practice, the day for the drama club was still a decent way off, Maeko was busy, he couldn't get on the student council, and he couldn't think of a reason to argue with his parents. Needless to say, he was quite bored. This seemed to be a theme. With nothing to do, he used his time stupidly by wandering around the school, hoping that someone would talk to him.

"Yes," she responded, a bit icily, before taking a breath. Misaki really wasn't to blame; Misaki was part of the 'Kozue you're a really good girl, not a total hobucket' camp. Oddly, along with Keiichi. (At least, he had been… Kozue wondered if he thought that way now.)

"I did. I didn't—" Another breath. Ugh, it wouldn't do to get upset in front of Misaki. "I hate being … the example, the… I don't know. He promised he'd be nicer and stop calling me a whore."

It was infuriating for Kozue to realize that she really couldn't keep a good angry going, and that now, as always, after a minute or two, it was declining into sad-and-tired-and-just-wanting-to-bawl.

Misaki looked at her gently and wrapped her arms around Kozue and gave her a gentle hug, "It's alright. You're not an example Kozue-chan. I don't know why Sempai keeps acting like that. He's one to talk he can't stand it when people touch him."

She sighed, "I wish now that I didn't help him with Akuba-sempai." Misaki smiled, "Hey you know what...we should go and get some snacks. Oh and you can help me pick out the pattern for your yukata, okay?"

She debated saying no I'm going to go watch eighties american movies in my dorm but… well, she'd been worried about Misaki and turning her down for hanging out? … you really couldn't do that to someone whom you thought was in serious friend-related turmoil. And who was hugging you.

Kozue did appreciate the hug, though; she certainly had no problem with physical contact (ba-dum tch). "Snacks sound great. Thanks, Misaki-chan."

Misaki grinned brightly and paused, "What else would you like to do?"

Misaki let her go and pulled out a tissue from her blazer pocket, "Here...your make up smudged some."

"Oh, thanks," Kozue said, cursing her eyes for watering. She'd done such a good job with the subtle mascara today, too. Not a single teacher had stared her down for it! And now it was ruined by a little bit of not-even-tears-yet.

"I guess we could pick designs, or… what would you like to do?"

"I'm not picky, I just like to follow around and do things with other people. Whatever they feel in the mood for." She shrugged. "I don't really think much about that honestly."

Really? And with Misaki seeming such an excitable girl? Kozue paused for a moment. "We can just go look at yukata designs, how about?" Since 'snacks' came about as close to what she wanted as anything else would, she was content to follow Misaki's original suggestion.

Misaki nodded some seeing the look in Kozue's face, "Why are you suprised Kozue-chan? Eh? Because I normally seem excited and such? Well I get excited because I'm with someone I care about and because they're probably excited or enjoying something that they like, so I'm happy then too."

"If you really want to, it's totally up to you Kozue-chan," Misaki smiled.

They were going to politely decline to choose each other to death.

"Let's grab snacks first and then look at fabric, okay? It sounds really fun."

If only she'd actually been able to muster more enthusiasm or fake-enthusiasm for it. Although the feeling for the snacks was real enough, she was still fighting the urge to whine or start some dumb, self-indulgent crying fit.

As they walked away from the school Misaki paused and said softly, "It's okay to cry a bit Kozue-chan. I'm not going to tell anyone if that's what you feel like. My brother used to tell me, its good to cry because then you can release whatever it is you feel and you'll be able to think better after you let it out."

Misaki smiled at her, "Mmmm, Oh by the way, um...My future sister-in-law got me a gift from tokyo. It's a movie called the princess bride, only it's...well, I really could use someone to watch it with me. And the girl on the box reminds me a lot of you."

"But...you don't have to if you don't want to." She waved her hands worried that the other girl would think it was a dumb suggestion.
