Pre-meeting meeting
Who: Kiriko & Tom
What: Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
When: Before the meeting
Where: The Butterfly Room
Why: How can you host a meeting without preparing?

It's fairly obvious by the neat spread of paper across the desk (was that there the last time?) that Kiriko isn't one for idle waiting. She'd brought (and now emptied) a folder with notes scribbled in a million different pen colours and while waiting was consilidating everything into a master sheet. Or, the backup of a master sheet - the master sheet she intended to use for the meeting was waiting nearby with nothing but a friendly header designating its importance. The sheet of paper she was frowning at now was only her first attempt at paring down the overextensive notes-to-self and book exerpts that comprised the majority of the information she'd brought.

When Tom arrived she looked up and greeted him with an impassive nod, then began to clear off some of the desk in the space in front of the chair opposite her.

Kiriko leaned back in her chair and folded her arms across her chest, considering what he was saying. Strength in eachother. That's more or less what the butterfly said, right? And he had a point about Ishinomori.

The last sentence pulled Kiriko from her reverie with a bump.

"Excuse me?"

She narrowed her eyes.

"What are you trying to say about me, exactly?"

Tom gave Kiriko a questioning look.

"That you're smart, devious, clever, cunning, capable of maneuvering a target exactly where you want them.

I mean, how many women in this country can claim they got out of their arranged marriage without just running away? How many people in this school can get Shirai to do anything? Sure you know him, but what buttons to push doesn't mean your any less skilled at pushing them.

Even I can't figure you out half the time. that You could probably convince people living at the south pole that they need air conditioning."

Kiriko's wary expression stayed. Those were all compliments, certainly, but directly at odds with what he'd said about her before. Besides her mistrust in him, she wasn't one to put a lot of stock in praises so easily sung. And, once again, there was that Shirai thing...

Wait, Shirai thing?

Her eyes narrowed further.

"How did you know about how I got out of my arranged marriage?"

Tom looked at Kiriko confused, he wiped a finger past his brow.

"You said you were going to get out of it. You told everyone not to worry, remember? And then you did. I don't actually know how you did it."

Tom rested his head on his chin. He reminded himself that just because Ikeda didn't like him, it didn't mean that he could completely let his guard down.

"Either way, There are more important things to worry about right? Anyone who isn't a persona user is a potential danger."

She leaned back in her chair again. Way to jump to conclusions, Kiriko. Her eyes settled back on the paper as she did her best not to call attention to that defensive outburst.

"Anyone who is a persona user is in danger. That seems to be the more pressing issue, to me."

Tom blinked at Kiriko. And reminded himself that it's more important to protect the innocent then punish the guilty.

"You're right. If everyone can recognize potential persona users by sight, then locating them should be a top priority.

Anytime I find one, I'll try and get them to you or one of the team members so the situation can be explained to them."
