It might have been a good, or bad day for Ishinomori Toru, for it was on this day that another gift was placed upon his shoebox. Like the one before it, there was little attempting to disguise the placement of the offering of affection. In fact, it would have been difficult not to notice the array of color and attention that this gift demanded.

A mixed bouquet, was this day's placement atop Poor Toru's shoebox. It appeared that two types of flowers had been arranged, and placed in equal quantity in the medium-to-large bouquet. The first, a pallor of soft white, Gardenia petals burst up from the mass of cut work. The second, a deep violet, almost a stark contrast to its partner in crime, Gloxinias erupted up from the depths to give all a chance to pay them a glance. But, it was not just a gift of flowers this day, no, for like the fateful first, it was accompanied by a letter. With the same writing, the same painfully large text, and in the form of a poem.

“Am I in too deep?
You seem to colonize my sleep
Invading territories in my dreams
Creating a fortress within my realm

Reality camouflaged by your hallucination
An army of you marching in my delusion
Patrolling round and round my distraction
Guarding my mind from any foreign invasion

Firing with bullets made of roses
Launching rockets full of infatuation
Dropping missiles, blasting love
You have taken me to a place high above

Showing me heaven in a battle field
Tranquil whisper in war proves surreal
Paradise within the jungle no more concealed
Love once tangled by vines has now been revealed

Emerging from clouds of smoke grenades
I seek shelter under your company's shade
Risking awkwardness as I step further ahead
Swearing upon my rifle, as I surrender to fate

Triggering me to pour out my confessions
Those three words, aimed at your direction
Targeted towards your classified location
Detonating silence, combusting all my emotions”

Beyond the overflowing poetry, was a small, barely noticable sticky-note attached to the edge of the parchment.

'I'll give you a hint, for only you to uncover. Of my name, the first letter you could discover. In the area between I and S, no less. Do you have a guess?'

Toru stared long and hard at his shoe box when he approached it. More specifically, he found himself staring at the bright array of white and purple flowers atop it and the poem nestled among them. Flowers? Really? He hurried to remove the things before any more people saw. Granted, it really was too late, since practically half of 1-B was in the vicinity.

Then he read over the poem. The flowery language and awkward rhymes were just as horrible as in the first one, and Toru found himself wondering Who goes to the trouble of writing something like this for someone? Especially me?. And as the poem progressed, he mumbled "Sounds like whoever wrote this plays too much Steel Cog Plasma..."

He finally reached the sticky note. It took Toru a moment to understand it, as his grasp of English was admittedly poor. "L-let's see... I, J, K, L, M, N, O... P... Q, R, S..." Once he considered that, he made a groan of despair. "Th-that could be anyone!!" But still, once person came to mind strongly. He scrawled Are you Misaki Aoi? on the back of the note and put it back in his shoe box.

Toru walked away, deeply confused and carrying a large number of flowers.

A reply arrived, almost too quickly. Perhaps someone in the vicinity had been waiting? Either way, it was quite difficult to pick out anyone in particular.. For the flush of students was that of any normal wave. People could make multiple rounds, however. But someone had left and gone, now. For in the place of the sticky note was a second. A single, large word printed on the surface.

"No."

However on the first note, there had been a number of quickly and crudely scrawled letters, and even more hurriedly pen strikes over the letters that were meant to be knocked out. It left only two letters. K & R.

A message was left below, and almost impossible to decipher in the amount of speed it had been written. Clearly, the writer was nervous/paranoid of being spotted.

'Second hint, but the last one for today.'

Toru sighed in relief when he noticed the new sticky note. Though he hadn't caught the culprit, at least he wasn't being bombarded by awful poetry this time.

"K and R... Starting with one of those letters...? Th-there's nobody with those initials..." He began to mentally list people. Kiriko, Kozue, Keiichi... no, not them, they've all got good reasons not to be writing these... Kanaye... Kiyoshi-kun... Reizo...

He blushed. There was no way any one of these people would write him a letter! At the same time, it was probably one of them. So Toru wrote the first thing that came to mind, a damning question if ever there was one, on the back of the note in response.

"Are you a boy or a girl?"

The response was placed as hurriedly as the one before, a sticky note placed as a member of the now-trio of post its. The writing on it was as hurried as it was before, the person having done so obviously rushing to finish at a relentless pace.

"You'll find out this Friday. I'll offer no other clue. Be patient, and the mystery will unfold."

One final thing accompanied the message. A hurriedly sketched heart.

He took this last message, read it, and stuffed it in his pocket. Toru's heart felt as if it was tearing itself asunder, for more reasons than one. What on earth was this? He'd never thought of himself as a romantic. After all, he hadn't felt attracted to anyone in so long, what with the 2D fetish. This feeling was a new one, far stronger than anything he'd tried to suppress around Reizo. And it was making him almost ill.

Toru walked away silently, vowing to play a good H-game when he got home.
