WHO: Toshi, Nanakamado students who feel like showing up
WHAT: A baseball game!
WHERE: Iburi Sports Dome
WHEN: Saturday evening, before investigations
WHY: "She likes baseball, right?"

The Iburi Sports Dome's shiny surface gleamed brightly as it reflected the setting sun. Tonight was one of the last games of the regular season, and the trains were crowded on the way there. Amongst the normal commuters, the baseball fans were easily spotted, revealed by their pinstriped Bacon Soldiers shirts or baseball mitts. Toshi, too, wore her Bacon Soldiers t-shirt and a pair of shorts; she was clutching a baseball cap that would have been familiar to the Persona team, but didn't seem to be able to bring herself to look at it, much less put it on her head, and by the time she reached the stadium, she had stuffed it in her tote bag.

But all this was forgotten once she entered the Sports Dome. The building was big and modern and a little futuristic, and Toshi was too busy being stunned by the spectacle to wonder how much it had cost to build or how rich you had to be to go often. There were shops and restaurants and displays devoted to Iburi's sports teams, and Toshi had read that there was a part of the roof with clear walls so that visitors could enter and see the view of the city. Not to mention that the whole place was overrun with enthusiastic Bacon Soldiers supporters with balloons and little inflatable baseball bats and everyone seemed almost as excited as she was. It was better than on TV, and the game hadn't even started yet.

The seats that had been purchased were behind first base and not too far up; they weren't box seats but they were far from the worst in the stadium. Toshi's uncle's assistant, Yukio, stood near the section looking for any confused-looking teenagers of the appropriate age in case his assistance was needed, but other than that the lower half of the section was all either Nanakamado students or empty seats. Toshi herself had a seat in the center of one of these rows, but she milled about the hallway for a little bit before the game started, still trying to take everything in.

Kozue, on the other hand, was familiar with the sports arena, at least passingly so. She'd dated a fair number of athletes, baseball players included, and they seemed to really enjoy watching the sport they spent all their time playing. What was even more perplexing, from where Kozue was standing, was that they also, by and large, thought that she would enjoy it as much as she would. And thought that 'baseball game' was anything but a boring date with the excuse for a bit of inter-inning shopping in the upper levels of the Iburi Sports Dome.

That was where she'd gone when they'd first arrived—that, and to get a snack, because a baseball game was the perfect place to quietly gorge on stadium food while everybody else was focused on the game. Now, carrying a plate of takoyaki and a soda, Kozue descended into the seats. She stood out in the crowd, lacking clothing or accessories that were even remotely Bacon Soldiers oriented; she'd even avoided the Bacon Soldiers official snacks, which included all manner of inappropriate things wrapped in the team's mascot meat. They had smelled awful.

On her way there, she caught sight of Toshi, in the hallway; juggling her snacks a little, she managed to raise her hand and wave. "Hey, Nawanaka-senpai!"

Kouchisei knew Toshimi liked baseball, but unlike her and apparantly some people from school, he wasn't familiar with the arena - this included where to walk, the toilets being too far away not that he knew where, and the price of eating. He'd never really bothered going to a sport game. If he wanted to see people blow hot air he could do it cheaper by watching at school.

He didn't know why Kozue wasn't wearing the paraphanelia, either. It seemed her level of establishment, and the fact she would have like something so different would have made him more comfortable about being around her.

And those team clothes made him uncomfortable too. There was an electric charge hanging on the air, which made the evening somewhat better as he said hello and took a seat two away from Kiriko's right. She was just a little bit intimidating.
