Sweet and Sour Dungeon...Act 1
Who: Exploration Team.
What: Dungeon crawling.
Where: Gingerbread Dungeon crawl
When: June 22nd
Why: Dungeon crawling, have fun you lucky ducks

The group finds itself placed in a very sweet setting, the world around them is covered in well white icing on the ground, and various gumdrops that lead the way around a gingerbread bricked path, with chocolate icing on the edges to make a nice touch. The path leads down a long front yard dotted with trees made from fondant (cake decorating stuff that's like candy) and hanging off them are chocolate kisses, pepermint drops, lemon drops, and other assorted fruit candy.

The group quickly discovers that the path leads to an adorable little gingerbread house, that is covered with a iced roof and gumdrops. The door frame is licorice twists (red) and the dor is made of a sugar cookie. The house looks good enough to eat, and you can smell the sweet scent of hot chocolate and marshmellows in the air.

Maeko storms forward, probably dragging another group member by the tie.

Said group member is Kanaye, who really doesn't mind, but hopes Maeko will stop soon. He doesn't want to die yet.

Maeko stops and looks around, satisfied that she's not the only one there and so willing to let go of the first group member she'd encountered after school.

"Sorry, senpai." She mumbles, distracted.

Kanaye pouts a bit, but is glad to still be breathing.
"It's all right, Maeko-chan. I want to save her ASAP as well.

ANYONE NOT ON A TEAM CONSIDER THIS AN INVITATION

Maeko nodded, looking around and apprehending two people who look particularly lost in the groups. She's clearly decided they're part of the team.

Misaki had been in danger and he couldn't handle the thought of leaving her there so he'd gone alone - except he'd discovered he wasn't and ended up being dragged by the tie by Maeko. Strangulation wasn't a good thing.

"Maeko-chan, Satou-kun."

"Oubai-san is one the team now." Maeko said, nodding.

"I couldn't say no," he said.

Maeko wasn't easy to argue with.

Kou looked at the surroundings. They were sickly sweet. Kind of like Misaki, he thought. Nobody could be that happy all the time.

"Mmh. So when did you get here?"

Kou cast his gaze at Maeko, and then looked at Kanaye. "The same."

He was about to ask "So, you think Misa-chan's here somewhere?" but realised how it was pointless. They knew she was. Instead, he changed the subject:

"Heard anything from the others?"

Honestly, he didn't want the group disbanding, and hoped it would all blow over.

"Well, not really, but it's obvious they're coming." Kanaye said, monotone. "Even THEY wouldn't let Misachan die." Kanaye just sighed. "Maeko-chan, you alright? Misachan is your best friend, after all..."

Maeko nodded, smiling.

"Of course I'm fine. Protecting Misa...it's just the same as I've always done. Just with more, you know, monsters."

Kanaye smiled. "Well, ok, but don't forget about yourself. We'd be devastated if you died for Misachan."

TEAM ALPHA, GO!

The setting threw Kiriko somewhat. It fit Misaki, she supposed, but... What about the Shadow?

"Don't eat anything," she said over her shoulder, leading her team down the central path, though speaking loud enough that any other teams within earshot could hear.

Kazuya glanced about at the surroundings with a part-suspicious, part-curious, part-ohlookcandy air. Most of the landscape seemed quite edible, and.. well, for lack of a better word, tasty. He might have even tasted some of it, if he had not before mentally noted never to come in touch contact with things in this.. odd reality far before.

Either way, he more or less obediently trailed behind Kiriko, his arms hanging at his sides in an almost casual fashion. It might've been a walk through the city, for all that it currently mattered.

Since she'd seen the posts on the journals, Kozue had been worrying. Even though nobody had said, "we're going to need you", she hadn't been able to concentrate on much of anything else, since finding out that Misaki was most likely in That Place. Paradise.

They were friends, after all—and Kozue hadn't the slightest doubt that Misaki would come in after her, if their positions had been reversed. And part of her was wondering what kind of Other Self her unbelievably sweet, cheerful classmate could be repressing. Misaki didn't seem like a repressing type at all, after all: maybe she didn't even have a Shadow Self.

Now, Kozue stood at the entrance, gaping at the literally saccharine surroundings that were, apparently, Misaki's Paradise.

... candy. It was made of candy.

Renju handled literal sweetness about as well as she did the figurative variety. Feeling a bit sick to her stomach, she stuck with Kozue for the time being--it seemed like she was one of the few people on the former team with whom Renju could get along reasonably well. Most of the others, even Maeko (who she'd been surprisingly friendly with lately) were a little too involved in the infighting at this point for her to want to deal with it. Not that Kozue wasn't, but at least it wasn't by any real fault of her own.

"... let's hurry through here." Her voice, normally confident when she was talking about things related to Paradise, was a little shaky now.

"Does this seem weird to you, too?" She asked, looking over at the other short girl. "I mean. I guess... Misaki-chan is in the Cooking Club, but I didn't think she'd care about food this much."

Masami took one look at the... sugary visage before her and suppressed a sigh. Of course. Of course Misaki's area would be like this.

"I... think it has something to do with her idealized view of the world, I guess..." she said, having nothing else to offer.

It...wasn't all that surprising that this place was made of candy, when he really thought about it. It was kind of like some normally-impossible idealism.

"Huh, I wonder if any of this is edible." Not that he was going to eat any of it, but it made him curious.

"Or poison us." Ever cheery and optimistic, Renju was. Still, after seeing Kiriko's dungeon, she wouldn't put anything past this place.
