Investigation Team Meeting attempt number 3
Who: Persona Users!
What: Investigation meeting v. 3.0.
Where: Ant-Bullying Club room
When: Tuesday Afternoon.
Why: Cause we need to talk without getting interrupted!

Thomas made sure to get to the Anti-bullying room early. He wanted to make sure there were no interlopers, eavesdroppers, or problems this time around. He set his bag down on a nearby desk,  and checked the room for recording devices. Normally he wouldn't figure on them, but with Akuba the club president...

He would have preferred to hold the meeting in the room he gave them. The previous music room still had the sound baffling set up which would make eavesdropping almost impossible. But Oubai had suggested the meeting,  and the last time he'd been in room 22-C was when Tom locked him in there. Tom didn't think the other boy would appreciate being in there again at this point. And Tom figured they needed to do as much to keep this meeting on track as possible.

Once he was sure the room was safe, he grabbed his bag. Inside was all the information he had. He flexed his right hand, still freshly bandaged. Finally ready, he pulled up a chair near the front of the room, facing the door  and waited. for everyone else to arrive.

Tom didn't say much when the others came in. To Misaki he simply said "It's fine." And reached out with his left hand to return her cleaned folded handkerchief.

To Maeko he nodded, when Kou entered Tom raised an eyebrow to his reaction. He supposed he was right in his original assumption, it was an issue that would need to be resolved at some point.

Toru didn't seem to notice him, which in the end Tom preferred, he was still thinking about hiding, and then slipping out once he'd done what he needed to. In general he was uncomfortable in dealing with all these people.

Kanaye smiled as he walked into the room. Waving to everyone, he nodded. "Hello, Maechan, Misachan, Tom, Koukun, Torukun, Keikun...hey Keikun, have you done something with your hair? I like it."

Sitting close to Misaki but not close enough to cause Maeko to go into glaring mode, he simply waited for the rest to arrive.

Kozue followed the somewhat steady stream of Persona-users into the meeting room - she'd had to figure out where the Anti-Bullying Club met, having never even tried to go there before, but directions weren't difficult to get. She walked in, and raised her hand to wave a little to those of the group that had already assembled, but said nothing. Instead, she just quietly co-opted a seat for herself, near most of the group, sat down, and crossed her ankles below the seat.

Kiriko was close on Kozue's heels, nodding to the group and sweeping her eyes over all of them. They stuck momentarily on Sagaki, sinking briefly to the bandage on his hand before looking him in the face again with an unreadable expression and cocking her head.

She moved silently past the assembled group, taking a seat in the back of the classroom, next to the teacher's desk.

Shiori arrived looking disheveled and exhausted. It was absolute torture not to draw during class. She actually had to pay attention and take notes and resist doodling in the margins and ughhh! She'd rather have a week of detention instead of this torture! But she promised Keiichi she wouldn't draw in the other world, and the sooner she got used to not drawing as she walked the better off everyone would be.

Lifting her gaze off of the floor to scan the room, Shiori shuffled over to the nearest empty chair and willed herself to continue paying attention. Sure, she could be at home right now drawing, but this was... important... too...

She fidgeted with the material of her pants, unsure of what to do with her hands now that she had no notes to take. It didn't seem like the meeting had started yet, either.

The room was surprisingly crowded. But then, the meeting in the woods had been, too.

Renju slipped inside quietly, trying not to draw any unnecessary attention. Sure, she'd dabbled in clubs before--a lot--but at least there you were mostly occupied with whatever activity the club was based on. This one was likely to be nothing but talking, and with people she barely knew. Really, the only ones she knew by much more than reputation were Ito-san and Aoi-san.

Still, it was important that she be here. Maybe it would help her understand what was going on. And at least Shirai-kun wasn't here...

She bowed slightly, nervously, and took a seat near the door.

She'd had a day to get over it, which, for Toshimi, should have been long enough. Had she even taken that long to stop thinking about Sato Kei? It was more than enough time to bury the whole affair under some studying and gaming and programming and baseball statistics--but she was worried it might all unravel if she had to go to a meeting about the subject. Toshimi didn't really want to talk with the rest of the Persona group that day, but a meeting was a meeting. It would have been easier for her to just go and try to tune it out than it would have been to explain to everyone why she didn't show up, anyway. So, as usual, she put on a smile and went along with what everybody else was doing.

She shuffled into the meeting room, wondering if the steady trail of people heading there would be observed. Although they were apparently an official club now, Toshi figured it would still pay to be careful. But not too careful, as that would be strange too.

Toshimi took a seat with the others and smiled politely. "Good afternoon, everybody."

Misaki waved in turn to each of the people coming in, smiled at Kanaye when he took his seat, and grinned brightly at Renju hoping that she would be okay there. Seeing Shiori playing with her pants she took out the small present she had gotten for her, after hearing from Keiichi that Shiori had promised not to draw while in Paradise.

Getting up she walked over to the older girl and held it out. The package was a light pink and green flower pattern that could easily have the top lifted off.

"I heard from Keiichi-sempai about how you're going to try not to draw in paradise, but I don't think you should really not have something to doodle with. It's not an inkpad but...I hope you like it." Misaki told her. Inside was a tablet that let you draw pictures like an echasketch. "This way you can draw like now, and put it away for later when you want to fight."

Yuuto had never been to the Anti-Bullying Club. Heard about it, of course, but never been to it. To be frank, he thought the whole idea of one was...well, a little redundant, but that wasn't his business now, was it? He peered into the room, slightly surprised that there were more people than he expected, a bit more surprised that he sort-of-kind-of knew some of them.

Interesting. If a little awkward, maybe.

Yuuto slipped into the room with a small nod of acknowledgment, saying "Good afternoon, everybody" before he took a seat of his own.

Kouchisei hadn't known new people would be attending. If he had... that dark spot in the corner? He'd be hiding there. It was when that voice echoed in his mind that he turned around - showing Yuuto utter shock.

"... The hell are you doing here?"

The Tanaka song was suddenly stuck in Kozue's head. Damn catchy tune. However, she didn't look surprised to see Renju - and only mildly interested that Tanaka-sempai had followed shortly after. So he was one of the 'other people' Renju had mentioned. Idly, fiddling with the creepy bear charm on her school bag -- to the beat of the Tanaka song, da da da da, da da da da -- she wondered if everyone who went into Paradise got a Persona, or what?

"Good afternoon, Tanaka-sempai, Sonozaki-sempai," she said, after a moment, looking up.

Kiriko peered around from the corner. Most of them were here now - at least everyone who could be counted on to show up on time.

"Can we start now?" she asked, glancing at Tom who seemed to be directing the meeting today.

Masami stepped into the room, sipping a travel cup of oolong tea that she had prepared in the tea club room.

"Good afternoon, everyone," she said as she took a seat near Keiichi.

When further new people entered Tom ran a hand through his hair and whispered softly to himself in perfect english.

“Into a limbo large and broad, since called The Paradise of Fools, to few unknown.”

After that he sat quietly until Kirko looked to him expectantly. Tom raised an eyebrow, certainly he hadn't expected to be directing this meeting. But he stood up, after all, he couldn't very well violate the directions of their team leader, even if those directions came in the form of pointed glances.

"So, we're obviously here to talk about Aomori's death. I know some people here might think it's paranoid to think this may have a connection to Paradise. So here's what I know.

The rumor goes that someone disappears, and while they are supposed to be gone, there are a number of reports of the person being seen acting strangely. I have not experienced this personally, so I cannot speak to it's validity.

However, in Paradise we've seen that someone trapped inside doubles, there's two of them, one is the real version, and one acts strangely.

...and apparently turns into a monster when confronted? I'm a little bit fuzzy on that.

Here's where I get into theory; it is possible that while the person is trapped in paradise, their other self comes out, and interacts with people.

Aomori's been acting strange for a few weeks. He had up until recently accepted just about any fake note to get out of class. Suddenly that changed.

On the camping trip, he ignored the class when the rest of the teachers were cooking, and at night, and where the other teachers were enforcing curfew, Aomori was sneaking.
In fact I pulled Ito into a hiding spot to prevent him from getting caught.

All of this isn't enough to confirm anything, it's not something any of us would have caught unless we were looking back. But there is something else..."

Tom paused to make sure everyone was still with him.

"When I found out you were all loading onto the buses on Saturday, I got in my car and headed back to the school. The place was crawling with cops, and none of the students were allowed inside.

I tried to write down as much of their radio chatter as possible, and I've been decoding it for the past few days.

I don't have it all figured out, but what I got was that some one died, and the police were called around 10:30 pm on Friday.
Ito and I saw Aomori at 10:09 pm on Friday.

Under the best conditions it takes an hour and a half, to two hours to get from the campsite to the school. It would be physically impossible for Aomori to travel that distance in roughly fifteen to twenty minutes.

I don't believe that he was ever on the school trip. His shadow was, and he was killed in Paradise."

Kanaye just stared. "Ya know, for someone who likes playing detective, you are good at breaking the law." he deadpanned. "So, in other news, Tom is telling us things that we could figure out ourself and he is being a creepy bastard. Nothing new." he sighed, walked to Shiori, and sat down.

Tom scowled deeply, and let out a breath, but it was a calming breath. Satou wasn't one of the smarter members of the group, in fact he was pretty sure Satou was the least intelligent member of this group.

So he kind of just blocked out all the words that came from Satou's mouth and moved on to the people whose opinion actually mattered.

Maeko looked alarmed.

"If what Sagaki-senpai's saying is all correct, doesn't that mean that at any time anyone could be in there? We can't keep watch over everyone in the school well enough to know when they're acting weird..."

Alarmed seemed to be going around the room - at least, Kozue looked rather shook up as well. But people behaving oddly was... well, that was something to do with rumors, right?

"We can at least try and pay attention to people, and to what people are saying. It's a starting place. Although it means knowing what rumors are true and what rumors are false, if we hear about someone behaving weirdly."

Great. Were they all going to have to become Sagaki-esque stalkers?

Misaki looked startled but quickly drew in a breath. "I don't think we have to watch over everyone. What we should do is try to figure out the pattern and see who might be taken next. Like how Oubai-sempai's shadow started to act rude, and Toru-kun's shadow was very shut in, more then normal. It's as if they express some sort of extreame."

Misaki blushed and gripped her fingers, "So...So maybe we should try to figure out connections between Aomori-sensei, Oubai-sempai, Toru-kun, and Sato-kun, and see if there's anyone that remotly fits that, and then watch them if we can. Or try to talk to them before something happens."

Kiriko had been sitting contemplative and frowning in the corner, arms crossed tight over her chest. When she did finally speak up she was clearly a little behind on the conversation.

"Sagaki. I assume you've already confirmed that Aomori-san had no real cause of death, just like Sato-san? We know for sure that it was Paradise now, don't we?

"As for keeping track... Can't we just keep checking Paradise? When Oubai-san and Ishinomori-san went missing, Paradise.. changed. Was there anything like that for Sato-san or Aomori-san? Emi is good at detecting shadows in that other world, maybe we can ask her to look for people, too..."

She bit the inside of her lip as she mulled over one other point.

"This means we have to get anyone who wanders in out. But... Something must be triggering their deaths, right? We reached Oubai-san and Ishinomori-san and they were fine... Do you think we can rule out the possibility that it's only dangerous if non-Persona users go in?"

Kouchisei did not reply to most of the remarks, but kept staring out of the window. The experience of being talked about was never comfortable. But he turned around anyway. He seemed disgruntled about being talked about.

He snorted angrily. "Whatever that Shadow is, it turned into my Persona, so maybe you should consider that. The Shadow is part of us. They tried to face it and were killed."

Reizo came barging in a little half-past Kiriko’s response, wild-eyed and grinning in his happily hateful way. He looked incredibly pleased with himself, and like he had hurt someone. Chances are they were connected. A large, long sack was hung across one shoulder; it bounced on his shoulder as he strode further into the room and leveraged it over his back and onto the table with a loud, jangling crash. Then he dusted off his hands, put them on his hips, and peered around the room with the sort of self-satisfaction only a born and bred yakuza could produce. The table sagged beneath the weight of the bag.

His expression broke when he seemed to realize they had other people--new people-- in the room with them. The cigarette jutting out of the corner of his mouth tipped as he frowned at them, twisted his head in his canine way, and stared directly across at Masami.

“What’s the kendo bitch doing here?” He asked the group as a whole, pinching his cigarette between forefinger and thumb. He snorted out a stream of smoke and focused back on the group, who were looking far too dour and mopey for a group he‘d just brought presents to. “You all look like you lost your grandma in a card game or something.”

Renju had been quiet, absorbing the conversation. It was a lot to take in--she hadn't imagined that Aomori-sensei's and Sato-san's deaths could be connected with Paradise. All of a sudden, the whole thing seemed a lot more significant.

Not to mention that the whole body-snatchers thing with the Shadows was a really creepy thought.

Right when she'd opened her mouth to ask a question, the door slammed open, and the one person she'd been hoping not to see barged in with... a sack? She was more than a little afraid to ask what was in it. She shrunk back into the corner a bit, the memory of what had happened with Kanaye fresh in her mind.

Toru quietly nodded in accordance with Kouchisei's observation.

"The same thing happened with... him," he said, still uncomfortable about referring to his Shadow, "He said that we were one and the same, and he turned back into my Persona when you all defeated him. So maybe that's what Shadows do? I-I mean, our Shadows."

When Reizo barged in, Toru just tried to make himself smaller and disappear into his seat. What the hell was in that sack, anyway? Well, not Kozue, at the very least.
