School Trip, Day Three. (Walk to museum, Museuming/Meeting, Bus Ride Home)
Who: Everyone
What: Walk, museum/meeting, hometime
Where: IN A MUSEUM

Why: We like geology

Aomori had already packed away his tent and gone when Banno-sensei walked through the feild with a megaphone, shouting to wake everyone up. Today was a museum trip and heading back into town.

	Kouchisei had left the meeting promptly and was now looking at Ishino-sensei. From her behaviour to Banno's loud, gruff town, he had a grown sense of dread. He expected Toshimi-san to show soon, so at least he'd not be stuck in the open. But had something happened? He looked at Banno. "How many seeds can he chew?" he said in amazement. Kiriko looked more annoyed than uneasy as she investigated the line of 1-B students to determine her place in it. Someone probably stole something - that was it, wasn't it? She cast a quick look around the S section for Reizo to see if she could shoot him a dirty look. Whatever happened, she was quite content to blame him for breaking up their meeting again until she heard otherwise.

Fairly soon she lost interest and began craning her neck to see if she could tell what was going on at the front. Unfortuantely, the calls for silence were fruitless - she couldn't tell what Ishino was saying at all, and so with a sigh, folded her arms moodily and waited for someone she knew to get close enough for her to talk to.

	Kanaye just glared at Banno. He wanted to spend some more time with the girls! Oh and the other members of the team. Those guys as well. Really. His heart bleeds for them. Totally. Kozue was only a few spots back from Kiriko in the 1-B line, and she was industriously text-messaging just about everyone she knew - well, with the exception of the Exploration Team, since she knew that they had no clue - with the same generic sort of message, do u kno what happened?

Either she was taking her new "job" as Rumor-Monger Officiale seriously, or (more likely) she just really wanted to know. After sending a variant on that message to her room-mate, she looked up and caught sight of Kiriko ahead of her, peering around like she didn't know either. Well, they could pool info. Or commiserate. "Psst, Kiriko-san," Kozue hissed in a not-quite-whisper.

Kiriko had been in the process of examining Kozue's text message - Why would you put the 'k' in 'know' and then forget about the 'w', isn't 'no' a lot easier? - when she heard Kozue. There was only one person between them, so Kiriko stepped back to Kozue's place in line to commiserate more closely. If asked about it, she'd claim to have had the order mixed up.

"I don't know, I can't hear anything. I bet someone stole something, why else would they need to round us up like this?"

Kozue's phone was buzzing merrily with replies. "Well, Tsukiko-chan says it's a terrorist attack, and Fumio-sempai from 3-C says that he thinks it might be because someone is getting in trouble for skipping the museum and we're all getting punished." Well, 'punished'. Or rewarded with less museum. "But I don't think either of them know. Hm. You don't think..." She trailed off. "Stole something?"

	"Can't you think of any dumb kids who would steal something just for the fun of it?" Grimacing, she flipped over her own cell and went back to texting around, starting with all the P-users. 	Kouchisei had been in a conversation with Toshimi when he got the call. He flipped open his mobile and hid it beneath his coat. Pressing each key was time-consuming. "Ishino-sensei's panicking. Haven't seen Aomori-sensei either. Bet Shirai locked him in the toilet." (Reply to this) (Parent)

Kozue waited, nearly curious enough to peer over Kiriko's shoulder. Nearly. But she didn't, out of some respect, some deeply ingrained need for politeness, and because her own phone was busy buzzing with more replies.

"Anything?" She asked Kiriko, as she read the latest from some of the most imaginative and overreactive minds in the school. Someone had seen a ghost? Now that was just ludicrous.

	"Nothing useful." She grimaced and flipped the phone closed. The only person who asked a question was Toshimi, and she had no idea how to answer that anyway. "They seem to know about as much as we do... Kanaye thinks someone died, which is just ridiculous if you ask me. Well, here-" she handed the cell to Kozue "-you can just read them." She scanned the texts quickly, suppressing a giggle at Kou's suggestion that Reizo had locked the gym teacher in a toilet somewhere. Hopefully they wouldn't leave without him - but that alone surely wasn't enough to get them sent home.

"Someone died? No way. This place isn't dangerous at all." She shook her head. "It's probably nothing to do with us at all. Maybe there's a just water pipe leak in the museum, or... Some building emergency like that." She glanced around; if that was true, other patrons would be leaving as well. But... they really weren't.

For whatever reason, Toshimi remembered, at Nanakamado "alphabetical order" meant "Roman alphabetical order". She counted the letters on her fingers. L...M...N...O. So Nawanaka would be between the Ma-Mi-Mu-Me-Mo and O. She spotted Oubai in her class's line and went over.

Walking along, she heard several rumors, each as wild as the next. "Oubai-san," she asked once she found her place in line, "Do you know anything about what's going on? The itinerary said we'd have longer than this." She didn't say anything about it, but there was definitely an air of panic in the atmosphere. At least she figured she could count on Kouchisei to be sensible enough not to give her any crazy rumor for an answer.

Rubbing his face, Kouchisei realised he didn't have a clue. Ishino-sensei was frantically trying to contact someone with her mobile, and Banno-sensei was being an ass again. Something was happening; he could feel it but didn't know what. He hated not knowing. It left him vulnerable. So when Toshimi came over he was glad for the distraction.

He listened, and nodded at Ishino.

"Her behaviour's suspicious, don't you think?"

And now that he thought about it.

"Hey, have you seen Aomori-sensei?"

Toshimi observed the teachers, thinking. True, Banno was usually somewhat pompous and Ishino had recently used her panicked facial expression rather frequently, but this still seemed fairly extreme. She nodded to her classmate, "Something does seem...out of the ordinary."

"Coach?" She thought about it. Usually he was fairly easy to spot in a crowd, but he didn't seem to be there. "Don't think I've seen him all day, actually."

She tried compiling all the circumstances in her mind to think of a plausible explanation. "Uh...maybe someone got lost? Aomori-sensei could be looking for them..."

Looking at Ishino-sensei, though, Toshimi shook her head. "But probably not...what could happen that they'd need everyone to clear out of the museum?"

Kouchisei shrugged. Maybe Toshimi was right. Plenty of kids wandered off, he thought; he liked to explore beyond walls, and if he did he wasn't the only one. His gaze moved over the crowd, turning to the faculty, where Aomori still hadn't arrived. This situation was wrong! He'd been on field trips - teachers didn't go missing. Suspects? He didn't think Reizo visited museums.

He turned to look at the rest of the class. He rubbed his arms, and then crossed them and buried his hands.

"Doubt it's Shirai. Not the fire alarm. Hmn. I've got no idea at the moment. What about you?"

Toshimi stood on her toes, trying to get a clearer view of Ishino's phone conversation. If she could figure out what she was talking about, that would be a valuable hint. But it was useless; Toshimi couldn't read lips.

"You think someone did something?" she considered, turning back to Kouchisei. If that were the case, she hated to admit it, but it would be her first inclination to suspect Shirai.

Guessing was easy enough, but it was all that she could do at the moment. There were only a few circumstances that would allow this situation to make sense. "Maybe something's dangerous in the building." She didn't know what would be dangerous in a geology museum, though. "Like...carbon monoxide or something?"

Her phone was buzzing in her pocket. "Oh--" She took her phone out and looked. "It's from Ikeda-san." Normally she wouldn't have checked her phone in the middle of a conversation, but she figured it was probably related. "Doesn't seem like she knows anything either."

	Kouchisei opened his phone, having thought his was buzzing. Messages... Inbox... Ikeda. He looked over the crowd and saw Kiriko standing in the distance. 	"Looks like it," she nodded. "I guess that way if anyone knows anything, she could just text us all back." She started punching out her reply key by key. "I wish I had something to tell her, though.
