School Trip, Day Two. (THE GREAT OUTDOORS)

Who: EVERYONE (npcs welcome)
What: Hiking, Meeting (Major Arcana Only), Setting up Tents, Cooking, MYSTERY FOOD X, King's Game, Sleepn (Possible bear-wrestling)
Where: IN A WOOD
When: Late May
Why: We like camping.

Aomori-sensei was waiting outside the hotel when everyone was awake, tapping a foot impatiently and looking at his watch. Ishino-sensei seemed somewhat nervous. He'd snapped at her when she'd tried to speak to him. He was always a lot more patient with the students and she'd hoped that finally going on this trip would improve his mood. She shook her head and smiled. It was her fault her colleague had to deal with all the reporters and so she had no right to complain when he was in a mood like this.

Tent arrangements:

Boys
3: Reizo/Toru/Akiyama
3: Kanaye/Yuuto/Kou
4: Gendou/Keiichi/Shin

Girls
3: Toshimi/Maeko/Shiori
3: Kojima/Renju/Mitsuko
4: Kiriko/Emi/Masami
4: Noriko/Misaki/Tori/Kozue

Maeko watched as Reizo attacked Kanaye. It was different seeing it from an outside perspective and she felt like she should do something, but if she couldn't do anything about Reizo for the sake of all the people who visited the club to complain about him there wasn't much she was going to do for Kanaye. Served him right for being stupid. Only an idiot would taunt Shirai like that.

"Understood." She said, gathering up her things, not able to leave while people were still using her raincoat as a seat. That hadn't gone particularly well.

"You okay, senpai?" She asked Kanaye. She didn't sound particularly concerned, it was just to shut her conscience up.

Her reserves of courage apparently exhausted, Renju turned away with a flinch as soon as Reizo grabbed Kanaye's hair, crossing her arms. It was her duty as his upperclassman to stop this--it should be, anyway--but... no, she was still almost shaking from her first ill-advised attempt at confronting him, and this was just driving the message home.

It was obvious that whatever was going on here was something she shouldn't have stumbled upon. She debated an apology, decided it would only make matters worse, and instead started walking briskly off in the direction she'd come. The fewer people who noticed her leaving, the better.

Cold. Kouchisei rubbed his arms quickly. Reizo's brutality had left him bone-numb and he could feel his heartbeat. It was displays like this that reminded him why he kept away from people. Home was safe. This place wasn't.

He walked over to Kanaye and looked at the injury. He winched. Stepping back, he cusped his chin in his hand.

"Someone should take you to Ishino-sensei."

Noticing both Maeko and Kou came over, he tried to smile. Tried, in the fact that his face was still pretty much raw, so instead he visibly flinched. "No, Maechan, I'm not ok. I kind of got beat up by a yakuza heir." he whispered shakily. "But it's not like you care."
Ignoring her for the time being, he instead looked to Kou. "Yeah, I probably should. Say that I slipped and fell or something. Knowing her, she'll believe it..."

"Let's get him out of here as soon as possible." The expression on Keiichi's face was somewhere between astonished shock and seething, impotent hatred. He couldn't even look at Shirai-san, because the expression on his face would likely be perceived as hostile and Reizo might decide pummeling one guy who's name started with K wasn't enough for one day.

Ito-san walked over to the blonde boy. "We need to go. Now."

"Well, he certainly didn't beat any manners into you. That's a relief." Maeko said, folding her arms. "You shouldn't have been taunting him like that in the first place, idiot. You know what he's like. Now are you going to get up or do I need to call Banno-sensei so the teachers can come carry you?"

She dug around in her bag, producing a clean handkerchief and a bottle of water and holding them out. "You should wash your face if it's cut at all. People'll ask questions if you're too much of a mess."

Kanaye glared at Maeko briefly before accepting what she offered. He dumped the water over his head and washed his face with the handkerchief, wincing at the stinging sensation. Noticing that the cloth was bloodied, he put his hand to his face and, when he took it back, it had blood on it. Dammit! Hope it doesn't scar... he thought before glaring at Maeko. "I'm glad to see you're happy I'm still my old self, Maechan!" he said sarcastically as he smiled bitterly. He nodded to Keiichi and started limping along. He had absolutely nothing wrong with his leg, but he was always one for the dramatic.

While Masami wasn't really much of an outdoors person, she did find walking through the forest by herself enjoyable. It was... quiet and relaxing. A nice change from the general chaos of the class trip.

It also made for a good tea-drinking atmosphere, she decided as she sipped from her travel cup full of green tea that she had made back at camp.

I could get used to nature walks like this, she thought, just before she heard voices not too far away. Curious, she decided to check it out, and it wasn't long before she encountered an unlikely trio: her own classmate, Ito Keiichi, along with two senpais, Akuba Maeko and Satou Kanaye. Immediately apparent was that Kanaye was... in less-than-perfect condition, to say the least.

"...Satou-senpai? What happened? Are you OK?" Masami asked, her slight pause the only hint to her surprise. Well, maybe I could get used to nature walks, but not ones like this... she thought in the back of her mind.

Maeko looked up, they hadn't had time to come up with a reason for Kanaye's state! There was no way blaming Reizo would end well for anyone.

"He fell down." She said, realizing after a second that this didn't explain cuts on the face so well and quickly decided to elaborate. "And he kinda slid on his face. We're taking him to Ishino-sensei now."

Kanaye mentally smiled. Masami was adorable in her Yamato Nadeshiko way, and he already was painted as someone who fell down on their face, so...
"Hey, Masachan! You're pretty! Screw Ishino-sensei, can I just stay with Masachan, Keikun?" he asked, trying to sound like someone who has a concussion. Turning to Keiichi, he continued. "I mean, Ishino's nice, but I don't go for older women. Now, someone like Masachan, Misachan, or Shichan, I'm all for that. Why can't they comfort me instead?"

He was going to die and it was going to be bloody, but it was too easy of a chance to miss out on.

Toshimi had intended to show up to the meeting on time, but before lunch she'd been engaged in conversation by another second year. He'd been talking on and on and Toshimi could not find a polite way to excuse herself. She thought that "I have a meeting with the top secret investigation team I'm a part of" would have been an unwise thing to say, and he hadn't picked up any of the "I need to leave" hints that she'd dropped. So she'd found herself with no choice but to let him run out of things to say and then leave. It'd taken a while, but she finally approached the spot of the meeting.

She saw most of the team, a bloodied Kanaye, a girl from her class (although distinctly not on the investigation team), and heard Maeko explain. Considering who was gathering, she figured that this was probably not the real explanation. "Uh..." She eyed the scene warily, unsure whether or not to involve herself.

Masami didn't quite buy Maeko's... questionable explanation, but it wasn't long before it had completely vanished from her mind, replaced completely by puzzlement over Kanaye's antics.

"Eh...?" Masami trailed off, her mind muddled by what Kanaye was saying. It was indeed true that she had occasionally helped out when other members of the kendo team had gotten injured during practice, but Masami was baffled as to why Kanaye would rather she treated him than Ishino-sensei, who would clearly be able to do a better job.

"Thanks for the complement, Satou-senpai, but I think you would be better off getting treated by Ishino-sensei... I'm not that good with treating injuries..."

For someone like her, it was rather easy for Shiori to be lost in the hustle and bustle of the conversations around her. It was weird to even think of jumping in, and so she kept quiet for the most part. Even when Shirai shoved Satou against the tree, she remained silent for the most part - a soft gasp escaped her lips as she ran over to her fallen senpai. He didn't seem too hurt, aside from the cut, and... oh, was he limping?

"You should see Ishino-sensei if you're hurt, senpai!" Shiori said quietly, worming her way against his side and maneuvering his arm around her shoulder. "You can lean on me and everything, okay? And I'll stay with you the entire time, I promise!"

She smiled, squeezing him gently in a hug.

Kanaye just smiled. He was surrounded by beautiful women, one of which is hugging him at the moment. And Maeko and Keiichi, but no one cares about either of them. And they were both trying to comfort him. He would thank Reizo if he wasn't so damn terrified of him. In fact, he probably would thank Reizo anyway. Bad habit and all. So instead he just turned to Shiori and smiled. "Ohh~? Thanks, Shichan! I really appreciate having you with me, I really do~!" he said as he just leaned into Shiori. Kanaye moment of the day right now: He knew it might get her to drop him, but eh~. He instead just sniffed her hair. "You smell pretty!" he said.

Tom waited a minute or so before he slipped out of the woods near Renju. The girl was far too focused on her situation behind her to even begin noticing that someone was nearby. And Tom needed to do something other then stay at the sight. He'd considered several options, including treating Satou's wounds, and dealing with Shirai, but in the end he realized that the girl who had found them was a detail that no one would notice, and Thomas was good at taking care of the details no one notices.

So Tom took a breath and prepared himself to to try something he'd never tried before. Tom smiled and called to her.

"Oh, Sonozaki-san! wait a moment."

Renju jerked visibly, the voice behind her bringing her up short. It was only vaguely familiar, not enough so to place it--thank god it's not Shirai flicked through her mind briefly.

Suppressing her nerves for just a moment, she turned around, against her better judgment, and almost immediately regretted it. "... Sagaki-senpai." She swallowed. "I apologize for interrupting your meeting."

Tom rolled his shoulders, and tried to look.... friendly. He stepped closer, arms at his side.

"It wasn't that bad Sonozaki-san... okay it was that bad, but truly I'm sorry that you had to see that. But you hsould have an explanation. See the truth is that we're one of the schools clubs"

"A 'club'?" Renju frowned sharply and folded her arms over her chest. Her shakiness was starting to wear off a little now that she was away from the scene, but not quite enough to be too confrontational.

... all the same, she kept her distance from him.

"It seemed rather secretive for a club."

Tom scratched the back of his head.

"Yeah... it's... it's the Anti-Bullying Clubs new special outreach program. The idea is they find delinquent students, problem kids and such, then try to befriend them, to get them back in line.
Sometimes... like in my case they help, and sometimes it can go badly like you saw.

On top of that, the Principal asked that we include some students have problems that we hadn't figured on, like Wakanata-san, she has trouble paying attention, and Satou-san with his terrible, terrible learning disability.

We're trying to keep membership as secret as possible, you know, so membership doesn't equal a ruined reputation."

"'Special outreach program'?" To say that Renju was a bit skeptical would be an understatement, but she didn't really have any other possible explanation for why so many people, several of whom hated each other's guts, would be hanging around with each other.

"If that's the case, why would someone like Shirai-kun care so much about it being found out?"

Re: MEETING

Tom cracked a smile, his best performance to date.

"Could you imagine Shirai-san's reputation amongst his bully friends if people knew he was involved in *anything* the Anti-Bullying club was doing?"

He stepped closer, laughing a bit.

"So... I am sorry that if you were upset by that display. I think you can be trusted with the secret of our little group though."

Tom's voice was non-threating, more of a compliment toward her character then a encouragement to be quiet.

It was all still incredibly fishy. Then again, Renju reflected, after what she'd just seen, she probably wouldn't buy that explanation even if it were true. It could well be that events had just conspired to make it look that way.

"... I suppose." Not to say she wasn't still going to keep her eyes open.

Tom nodded, and then looked around. He gave his explanation, and at this point would usually leave. He wasn't used to having to cover other people. He looked at her awkwardly.

"Uh... do you need help getting back to the camp?"

Renju opened her mouth, ready to brush him off, then shut it again when she realized she had no sense of direction and no map--she'd left in such a hurry that she hadn't picked it up from Ito-san. Flushing slightly, she nods, folding her arms tightly against her chest.

"I... yes. Directions would be enough."
