WHO: Hikaru and Pre-Associated People.
WHAT: Investigation, Obstinancy, Fighting.
WHERE: Occult Shop and Paradise.
WHEN: Immediately after this.
WHY: Naivety.

Golden light had suffused the room, and Hikaru had seemed to drift off to sleep behind the counter. The time was late and he was struggling with the dryness of his eyes. And the smoke of the incense, which came from the presence of the shadows, found there was no escape through a window; it ascended the air and billowed invisibly across the ceiling. But the high windows were not far away: he still managed to trundle and unlatch one with the wooden arm that was kept by the door. The dusky air came down the front and escaped through the space there.

He turned, and his eyes showed a particular kind of fire.

"You've made a lotta progress. But it's time to move on and let us pick up where we left off. Your mouths full of holiness and hearts full of greed are starting to annoy me."

Hikaru's moved his gaze from Tom to Toru, and then to the girl and guy at the back. He had focused on everyone for a long time; for a longer period than the one where they'd been in his shop, he'd watched and judged and made decisions based on fact.

"You can't judge, or point fingers, so don't you dare. You'll discover you won't always have a choice. I think what you are doing is wrong. If you won't stop it's going to get pretty ugly. It's ugly already. We just want to make a safe neighbourhood. This is very sad."

Getting people to understand was a difficult and tricky thing, he thought. He tried not to think about it. The main thing was that he trusted that other part of himself. He was a guy somebody could trust to do the right things, and make the right decisions. He just liked to thank it for keeping him safe.

"It's a little backwards that you think serial killings will make a neighborhood safe, Fujiwara," Toru stated through gritted teeth. It seemed as though this sort of encounter was far more aggravating in real life than it was in games. Possibly because his life, and the lives of three others, hung in the balance. Plus, everyone else, were they to fail.

"You're not going to convince us of anything by standing there and talking, anyway. Since you've already deemed it the best way to deal with us... why don't you shut up and fight?"

Toru was confident that Tom would back him up. Isao was a wild card, but Misaki could definitely heal and use Agi skills. They stood a chance. Provoking the angel wouldn't do anything other than speed up the inevitable.

"Because, he probably doesn't think we can beat him," Misaki said quiely and scowled at the shopkeeper. She had thought that he was a decent person, a nice guy, someone to look up to. He was hard working, a decent businessman, and really never stiffed the clients as far as she could tell. She had been using him as a model for how businesses should be run, she wanted to believe that there was still some decency in people, but the farther she had gotten into this the more she realized that people weren't as honest or as good as she would like to believe. In fact they were down right criminal and insulting and just full of shit. Even those that she trusted were false and liers to a point.

She pulled her fans out and held them at the ready at her sides. "Toru-kun's right Fujiwara-san, it would be better to just get this over with so that we can finish this and then deal with your friends."

There was something in her eyes that implied she wasn't kidding when she said this, and a part of her just wanted them to pay for the death of Seji.
