Hikaru's moved his gaze from Tom to Toru, and then to the girl and guy at the back. He had focused on everyone for a long time; for a longer period than the one where they'd been in his shop, he'd watched and judged and made decisions based on fact.
"You can't judge, or point fingers, so don't you dare. You'll discover you won't always have a choice. I think what you are doing is wrong. If you won't stop it's going to get pretty ugly. It's ugly already. We just want to make a safe neighbourhood. This is very sad."
Getting people to understand was a difficult and tricky thing, he thought. He tried not to think about it. The main thing was that he trusted that other part of himself. He was a guy somebody could trust to do the right things, and make the right decisions. He just liked to thank it for keeping him safe.
