In general, Njord preferred quiet beaches. Especially if he could go early in the morning, just after sunrise when there was still a chill in the air and nobody on the waves. Unfortunately, a lot of the places that had good surf also attracted a crowd, so he’d gotten used to sharing the shoreline. Besides, it was nice to see that others loved the sea, appreciated its strength and beauty. ( Privately, he might have just a bit smug about that. )

Loki reached into the fire and turned one burning log before adding another. He'd wanted a fire that evening. One outside in the ring of rocks he had so carefully put together a safe distance from both the house and the treeline at his home outside of Anchorage, Alaska. Not that he was concerned overly with the fire getting out of control when he commanded it freely most of the time.
( Fire was in his blood. )
