Around the Fire [Dionysos]
Loki reached into the fire and turned one burning log before adding another. He'd wanted a fire that evening. One outside in the ring of rocks he had so carefully put together a safe distance from both the house and the treeline at his home outside of Anchorage, Alaska. Not that he was concerned overly with the fire getting out of control when he commanded it freely most of the time.
Fire was in his blood. It was who he was and to have any fear of it would have been unnatural. He had a healthy respect for it, but more than anything, he was it.
It was a bit of nostalgia that brought him outdoors with the fire. It reminded him of so many of his excursions with Odin, so many with Thor. They would have fires, make merry and fall asleep under the stars. A wayward vagabond sort of life was lived in those early years and sometimes Loki missed it. It also reminded him of that night camping in Louisiana with Dionysos and his maenads. The night he had finally broken free from the drug induced bonds with those modern day gypsies.
Reclining back into his chair, pleased with the way the fire was turning out, his hand searched the base of the chair for the bottle of beer he'd been nursing for the past half hour. It was piss warm now, needed to be finished off and replaced, and with that in mind he downed the lot of it. He promised Sigyn he was going to watch his drinking and that he was going to think through his actions. A promise he had no intentions of currently breaking.
He was just enjoying a beer while sitting around a roaring campfire and the only thing that was really missing was a companion in some form. He supposed he could ask for company and there were a handful of options that appealed to him.
One he could ask for Sigyn to join him. That was very appealing, to have her cuddling with him in the dwindling light with only the sounds of the wildlife around them. Two he could invite Morpheus, who he hadn't seen in quite some time, to join him. In fact, he hadn't seen Morpheus in long enough now that it was probably time to check on the boy who did entertaining things while drunk. Three, and the option that would win out in the end, was to invite Dionysos.
Loki had words he wanted to exchange with his closest of friends. Something along the lines of it being his fault he'd gotten into such a dire situation with Sigyn to begin with. Damn that Dionysian wine.
"Dio, buddy," he called out, "I'm having a fire and a drink, come join me." Then he paused and tried to think of what else was missing. "Oh, and bring some of those sugar covered marshmallow things."
