Bammerwee* {Narrative, but Open should someone wander by} [02 May 2008|01:25pm]
Hawaii surf slang*(something good, not all that great)

Zephyrus knew he was in trouble when he'd returned to Epidaurus and learned that Pothos had been released back home. Time had gotten away from him again and he cursed himself most of all for letting it happen. He stood at the mouth of his cave and looked out to the water as he leaned against the opening.

Seeing his son after the attack, it had affected something in him more than he would like to admit. He did want to be there for him, but for all he'd seen through the many many years, he conceded that Iris was the stronger for sitting by his side.

Zephyrus had flown to the outskirts of his mother's temple and wept for his son. He still needed to see Eos, but he'd not wanted to interrupt her guests she'd had when he'd got before. But he would go, and soon.

Part of him wanted vengeance, to attack and hurt those who would dare harm his son, but part of him felt more guilt. He hadn't been there, again. Again the West Wind failed as a father, catching up to his level as a failure as a husband.

And though this time he did have a reason for being away, he was too cynical to believe Iris, or even Pothos for that matter, would believe it. He glance across the way to the wall and the present he'd gotten for his son.

Though he'd been gone far too long, he knew that one thing that hadn't changed was Pothos' love for the water, specifically surfing. And so, in the one way he knew how, Zephyrus had gone to the ends of existence to find the best, most excellent board.

And he thought he'd found it too. It was classic and the best around. And he thought, while Pothos couldn't get to the water right away, it would give him something to look forward to later on.
