She ought to be talking to Horus.
She should have gone to find Isis.
But Bast felt like doing neither of those, especially after her chat with Sekhmet. She had delivered the messages her mother wished her mentor to know, and found out nothing that she felt she needed to report. True, the fact that Gwydyon had attacked their people on their land was upsetting, but Bast trusted that Sek would handle that. Hopefully without messing up that pretty face too much. And eventually, she would tell Isis about it.

It was on fire. Everything. All of it. Hedylogos' home in Paris, France bore the signature of Pyriphlegethon, embers dancing from the rooftops, smoke billowing into the night sky.

'Why don't you just go already? He doesn't want you here. He wants me. Isn't that right, dear?'
"I wish you would both stop arguing. You're going to drive me mad." Calm. Impassive.
