Rhythm Is Gonna Getcha ( Bast & Anansi ) [24 Jan 2008|01:27am]
In her travels to find her elusive fellow "shinto" goddess, she decided to actually try and get a good look around. Las Vegas was interesting, but there were other places more suited for looking for budding dance talent. She thought of going to New York, but it was so very cold there, not that it wasn't cold in most of the United States. She thought of going down to Miami, but LA was much closer. She liked to study how people moved without having to sit down in front a TV. At least this way, she could mimic them and learn how to incorporate it with her own style.

She was more of a traditionalist, true, but even if they thought the movements were new, they were all natural to the body. You could hear the song sung to you and you replied with your body, harmonizing and singing along. What was a good song without a good dance? )

Home Is Where the Heart Is? (tag: Hedylogos) [24 Jan 2008|12:18pm]
Coming home was a great relief for Sigyn. The conversation with Eir had begun with confusion and ended with consternation, and was nothing but a headache start to finish. She still wasn’t entirely certain why the goddess had shown up, since she didn’t care enough to arrive in a timely manner. And she hadn’t meant to be dismissive, she was in fact going to buy Eir some brie to take home, but the odd girl took another strange turn and had simply walked away. She was a head-scratcher, that one. Occasionally, Sigyn wondered how Frigg, with her decidedly abrasive personality, dealt with Eir.

But recently, she’d decided she really didn’t particularly care what Frigg did at all. It still hurt, knowing that years of faithful friendship hadn’t truly been returned, that Frigg thought of her as nothing more than a joke. But worse, sometimes, rarely, Sigyn missed her. Eir’s abrupt and surprising visit had reminded her far too much of the many people she did not see anymore. Which was for the best. It really was.

She was far better off where she was. Though… where was she? )

Neon Skies (tag: Oizys) [24 Jan 2008|09:03pm]
Zelos stepped out of the Luxor Hotel and Casino with a smug look of satisfaction on his face. That had been a very enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. Not exactly what he had planned when he arrived in Vegas, but it certainly had ended well. He rotated his shoulders, feeling his shirt rub against the bite marks she had left. She had been very animated and enthusiastic, someone he just might look up again. While his time spent with Bast had done nothing to help him resolve his feelings for Nike, it would take another hour or so before any actual guilt set in.

But as distracting and fun as his afternoon had been, reality was already creeping back into his thoughts. The grace period Zeus had given the Underworlders was almost over. Soon there would be war within the Greek pantheon. Zee and his siblings would be fighting against their uncles, aunts and cousins. Whoever stood against Zeus, stood against the children of Hate.

No matter how much both sides wished it were different.

Straightening his collar, Zee started walking through the streets of Vegas. Lost in thought, he was unaware that he had wandered onto Freemont Street. He was oblivious to the neon lights over his heads. His mind was too occupied by current events back home. He was starting to make plans for the best way to handle the upcoming hostilities. Straightforward and without giving thought to whom he was fighting.

Even lost in thought, however, Rivalry was fully aware of his surroundings. He noticed the girl sitting on the curb, looking as lost and alone as he had ever seen anyone look. This wasn’t her kind of place. At least he didn’t think it was. He wasn’t sure exactly how her tastes ran, but somehow he didn’t think this was it. Sitting down next to her, Zee bumped his shoulder against his aunt’s.

“So, tell me, Oizys. What’s a nice girl like you doing in a place like this?”

Cold Winter Wind [Frigg] [24 Jan 2008|09:50pm]
Chilly. It was Chilly in Ohio. Ninlil had sent a note for Frigg to meet her there. She thought the Norse Goddess might like the cold. Ninlil liked heat. She hated the cold. But bundled up in a coat and a sweater, and a scarf kept the cold out. Well, for the most part. Ninlil had reserved a table for them at a little restaurant outside of Chillicothe, a small town with a lot of Production Lines. Cars, Trucks, and so on. Ninlil liked it here because it was windy enough for her and the people were friendly. She would have gone to Chicago, but.. Well. They weren't so friendly around there.

Not especially.

Ninlil took off her jacket once she was inside and let the waiter lead her to her reserved booth. It wasn't too fancy, but she was much more homely than Queenly these days. Preferring small out of the way every now and then. She hoped Frigg liked it here. She already ordered herself a glass of red wine. She was thinking about Chicken. Lots of Chicken. And Vegetables. When the Norse Goddess was also lead up to the table.

Ninlil got up and smiled at Frigg. "I thought it'd be nice to get away from home for a little while, and have some lunch with a new friend. I hope you like Italian. I'm not the biggest fan, but I like to try new things." Ninlil bowed her head in respect to the Norse Queen. She hoped she liked it.

Because she really needed more friends.

In Light of Recent Events [Zeus, Helios] [24 Jan 2008|09:52pm]
Away too long. That's all she could think of. Artemis was dead. Artemis was dead and there was nothing Alathea could do about it. Not that Alathea could have stopped what happened to the Goddess, but Alathea.. Well Guilt was a fickle thing. She knew the truth about the situation. She couldn't have done anything, she would never have known about it if Asklepios hadn't said a word about it. She just felt off-kilter when stepping onto Olympus. It was far too quiet there. Far too quiet. The skies weren't dark, no the sun was shining. Helios was doing his work as normal. But.. Alathea.

Well. She had things she needed to do. First of all, she had to see her King. She had to. Zeus was in his Temple. She knew that much. The state of it wasn't in shambles yet. Which was promising. But from the looks of the attendants that opened the door for her, well, he probably wasn't in a good mood. No, she knew h wasn't in a good mood. Who would be? Artemis was his daughter. He had every right to be upset. But if war was coming. He needed someone there by his side.

Alathea would stand beside her King no matter what. Even if she herself was sent to war, not that she'd be of much help, but she'd do it without question. Entering the throne room, Alathea took her place in front of the throne. Dropped down to one knee and bowed her head. It was a show of respect. She respected Zeus. He'd always, in truth, in a fair king. A just king. And no one was better than he was. No one could do better.

The Underworlders who thought they could were fools. One day she'd like to point that out. She'd like to tell them that they were foolish for thinking those things. And then they would know the truth. She didn't lie. She didn't even bend the truth. She was the truth. And one day they'd know. Hopefully that day would come sooner than later and not wading through blood to tell them exactly what she should have long ago.

Helios was there as well. But her eyes stayed on the floor for now. She would greet the Titan when it was appropriate to do so. Alathea was as traditional as they got. She liked it better that way.

"My King."
