Along Came A Spider (Moros, Artemis, Apollo, Athena) [23 Dec 2007|12:48am]
Olympus was everything that he remembered from his last - all too brief - visit. Shining bright. Pale marble, golden gods and great works of stone in their names. In short, everything that Akheron had come to detest about the gods. They were diminishing in importance, diminishing in stature, but their decadence knew no boundaries that Akheron could see. They would betray any oath, subject any 'lesser' god to a thousand cruelties in their names, only for the sake of a night of copulation. Or a bride who had as little place in the Underworld as they did. Hades was one of their number; an enemy to be vanquished, just as Zeus and his get were. That was part of the reason everything had been arranged in this manner. His mother would sully Hades' name while Akheron went about his dark purpose, appearing where he was not expected before their 'week' was up. If an Underworlder took that offer of sanctuary, they would do so at their own peril.

His family would support him or stay out of his way, but they would not join the side of the king.

Akheron wouldn't allow that. )

Aftermath (Tag: Deimos, Nemesis) [23 Dec 2007|11:01am]
Tyche liked Philotes -- she even liked Oizys (as much as she could) -- but she could feel no sympathy for the two when they carried on like that. They deserved whatever Deimos gave them. Her hand went to the side of her neck quietly and rubbed at the purpling finger shapes there. It was still impossible for her to look straight into Deimos' face, but when he was turned toward the closet, it was easier. She gave his backside a good long stare before turning away again.

The hotel room was very uncomfortable. If it hadn't been for the pair of deities in the closet, perhaps it would have been something like endurable, even with the fact that she was surrounded by Underworlders her father most likely wanted to rub off the face of the planet right now. She wasn't so imaginative to believe that they blamed her -- they couldn't, of course -- but the fact remained that when the lines were drawn, most of them would be on the opposite side from her. Not Nem, of course. Not Nem. She didn't think she could fight against Nem.

"Would you like to come stay at my place for a while?" she asked Retribution. After all, it would be difficult for her friend to get any sleep while her sisters were caterwauling in the closet.

Tyche realized, then, that it would be less than impolite if Nem took her up on that offer and they abandoned Deimos here. She didn't want Deimos in her penthouse again. She didn't think she did. She was almost sure she didn't. Chewing her bottom lip, she contemplated his boots.
