Gemma Montague 5th July 2020 | Bashing Bandit Plot
RATING PG-13 | Warning of some violence.
Gemma laughed softly, feeling much more refreshed than she had earlier in the day. "Thank Merlin for hangover remedies." She spoke quietly to herself. Lucky for Gemma, her hangover wasn't really that bad, she had gotten worse headaches whenever the weather would drastically change.
It had been a lazy Sunday indeed, but a good one. She had spent most of the morning and afternoon indoors, but as the evening got cooler, she wanted to get out for some air. Plus there were a few things she could pick up if she felt the need to be productive.
It was a lot later than she had planned, by the time her errands were finished, it was already dark. The lamps along the stone road were lit and Gemma played the smart role and stayed along the paths that had the most light. As a breeze rolled in, a few lamps ahead flickered out, and she swore she heard footsteps behind her. Discretely she took ahold of her wand, her mind was probably playing tricks on her, but Professor Moody's warnings years ago rang inside her mind, even if it really wasn't Professor Moody.
As she took another step, she was sure of it this time. Someone was following her. Her heart pounded in her chest, the shops were closing or already closed up for the night. Why did she have to wait until the last minute to go out? Her body became tense as she stopped, and turned to pretend to look at a sign hanging up on a shop window. Sure enough, she saw a figure coming close and as the arm raised up, she could see a bat more clearly in their hand.
Just in time, as Gemma caught the reflection, Gemma bent down low as the figure swung. When she stood up, she held in a gasp as she stared into purple eyes shining from a weird face covering. She heard the voice grunt, low enough, and with the body build, the figure certainly seemed more masculine. Gemma held her wand up as the figure tried to swing at her again, but her quick reflexes, she jumped back. "Stupefy!" As quick as she was though, so was the figure. She could see him grinning like mad, and something about him, she didn't think he was 100% human.
Unfortunately, Gemma didn't have time to assess as the figure stepped and swung again. He was close and managed just barely hit Gemma's left arm. She went down, scraping her knees and arms. A high pitched laugh sent shivers down her spine. She grimaced from the pain as she rolled, point her wand upwards to him with a shout. "Arresto Momentum!" The spell hit the figure squarely in the chest and his movements slowed. Enough for Gemma to quickly get upright. "Everte Statum!" The figure flew back by several feet and landed hard against the side of one of the shops. Immediately Gemma sent up sparks into the air, a call sign for help. The figure didn't move towards her, instead, he took his cloaked and with a swift movement, he wrapped himself and disappeared.
Gemma stood for a moment, her wand still up, she could hear voices and the sound of someone rushing over, she was shaking slightly, lowering her wand when she heard reinforcements coming.
