Neville had been walking for hours. The labyrinth seemed endless at this point and he was starting to wonder if maybe it was. He was grateful at least, that Beverly had put her warning on the network. He'd made sure to keep a hand on his wand because of it and thankfully, it was there when he'd woken up. He must've landed on his phone though, because the screen had been broken and he was worried about using it too much. Plus, he'd have no way to charge it. The wand though, was coming in handy. He had a small trail of sparks that followed behind him on the floor as he walked. They would only last an hour or so because his unspoken magic wasn't as strong as it would have been if he could say the spell out loud, but it was enough that he could (usually) trace his steps when he needed to backtrack. He was following them now, making his way back from another dead-end. This one had been particularly tiring with nests of spiders at two different points somewhere along the way and of course, the ones he'd stunned the first time had woken up by the time he got back to them. He stepped out of the opening of the hall, back at the last intersection he'd turned at that didn't leave a dead end. He extinguished the lumos on his wand and turned it toward the wall instead. Flames erupted on the wall, first an X, then the word SPIDERS spelled out in bold letters. The fire burned out quickly but there were scorch marks left in its wake. He assumed there had to be others in the maze and hoped it would help. And would help him if he ended up back in this place. He sighed, as much as he could without making any noise at least, and slid down the wall. He was tired. And he was starting to think he wouldn't be getting out any time soon. He wanted to sleep but didn't think he could, he'd already dealt with the spiders more than once, and run from some kind of giant snake. He could rest though, wand lit again and held tight in his hand. |
