Neville was frustrated too. In his tired state, and being too focused on the difficult communication, he'd forgot to lay the trail out behind them. He had no idea if they had been walking in circles or just managed to get turned around enough to end up at a portion of the labyrinth that he'd passed much earlier in the day.
Her blade against the wall almost made him jump, probably would have if he hadn't watched her pulling it out. But he understood the feeling. He'd been at this for hours, imagined she was too, and they only seemed to be getting more and more confused. He was about to reach out, try to...connect in some way, maybe suggest a break, when something caught his eye.
Spiders. Up to this point, all of the ones he'd seen seemed intent on attacking, but these ones were scattering away from them. Coming out quickly from what seemed like nowhere but were likely cracks and openings in the walls. It didn't seem like anything in their way mattered, he and Elektra went completely unnoticed by them. It made him look back, over his shoulder and in the direction they seemed to be running from.
He caught a glimpse of slick black and red scales and jolted. He reached out quickly, covering Elektra's eyes with his hand and closing his own. He knew she would probably lash out, she didn't seem the type to like being touched, especially suddenly, but he would deal with that. He pulled her with him around a corner, coming up on it short since he now couldn't see either and scraping one arm against the stone. Once behind the wall he released Elektra but put out the light of his wand, letters appearing again, messier and more rushed.
BASILISK
EYES CAN KILL
DON'T LET IT LOOK AT YOU
He was certain it would be coming, there was no way one corner would deter it, but maybe it'd be enough to buy them some time.
