So those doors that spontaneously open up around the island. I'm given to understand that they lead to people's home worlds. Does that actually allow us to communicate with people back in our own realities? Or is it just like a holodeck program, where it appears to be home, but nothing we do there actually has lasting influence on that reality? I'd like to know if mine still exists.

Also, do we get new seasons of TV shows here? Because the second half of the final season of Breaking Bad starts up in a month. Obviously, I would not want to miss that.

People do that without realising all the time, .... Mr. Stark.

Did you get that from my brain, or my username?

Your username, I do try to keep out of people's minds unless they give me their permission. There are obviously exceptions to the rule, but I only think it's polite

Someone with your name did once politely inform me and several of my comrades about my underwear preferences, so I wasn't sure.

(This, notably, was not information you would have gathered from first-hand experience.)

That's unfortunate

My bad, I suppose. Sometimes it's difficult, especially if for one reason or another, you're loud about your black calvin klein boxer briefs underwear.

You know, I'm not really sure how to be loud -- or not loud -- about my underwear preferences.

Although I may have expressed some doubt, thus presenting it as a challenge, so I guess that one wasn't all you.

I do like challenges.

Well, I could have told you that. You got along with Logan.

I'm still never really sure if I've managed it.

Well, how often does he threaten you?

Often. But to be fair, when a kid asked me if Iron Man or Wolverine would win in a fight, I did jokingly assert that Iron Man would win and take his catchphrase as a trophy.

You brought this on yourself.

Could have been worse. At least I didn't answer the question on Twitter and start a fandom war.

Self preservation, really. Twitter can turn on you like THAT.

I imagine it's a bit easier to keep a handle on it when you can read the masses' minds.

It isn't.

Really?

You can't just tell all of your followers to be cool and have them do it?

I wouldn't.

Question. Do people sound the same when they think as they do when they speak?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]theprofessor

Only when they're attempting to directly send a thought.

What about otherwise?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Then no, because half of all thoughts are memories and memories are influenced by more than just our own voice.

Also, authors always speak in their minds in the voice of the character they are writing as they write it. Or attempt to, anyway.
