I understand your position that life has inherent value and thus you seek to sustain it. But in the case of the dragons I must ask questions that you have not. You vote to keep these dragons on the island without understanding the weight of that decision.

So answer:

1. Where are you housing them.
2. How are you feeding them, and how will you sustain that feeding when you run low on herds?
3. Who has skill with animal husbandry? Do you have a realistic estimation for the length it will take to cultivate a sustainable herd with the single purpose of feeding three, full grown male dragons?
4. What will be done in the event a gold female arrives? They will breed and they will bear a new clutch of eggs that will grow to adult size. I am told somewhere between 20 and 50 new dragons each year.
5. If it becomes necessary, who will put them down?

These questions are not for you to answer. We have discussed the matter.

I'm not going to let you make blanket assumptions that about things you don't fully understand without contradicting you.

You are misunderstanding the intent of these questions. I am a King of my people, but not the other islanders. And they must also be made aware of the situation.

I have not said to kill them, I have not said I intend for it to happen. I am asking if it becomes necessary, which if you do not allow them to breed, it will not be.

Listen.

I am listening. And there's no reason to get your feathers in a bunch like an angry wherrie over something that's not even happening yet. There are no female dragons on the island, if you hadn't noticed.

I do not think having a plan in the event it does happen is a bad thing. I would like to be prepared than caught off guard.

As a leader of men you should understand that.

Perhaps I simply don't see the problem with having a clutch of dragons.

If we were not trapped on and island with limited food sources for the majority of the population, I would not question your knowledge or your desires. We must take into account more than our own desires in order to survive.

This island does not belong to you or to me, it belongs to all of us while we live on it.

Are there no masterherdsmen here? It is a big enough island that we could raise a herd of beasts quickly enough to assuage their hunger. For now, they can eat from the sea, and from he forest.

That is why I am asking.
