This sure beats the weather in New York City and it definitely beats prison.

I guess most people must introduce themselves when they show up here, don't then? I ...well I would, you know, but... I don't know who any of you are. Names are too precious to just give away.

Oops.

I studied maths. Trinity College Dublin. That's more interesting than a name. It certainly tells you more about me than any name I'd give you would.

oooh, I DO like the name Trinity...! I mean, I could call you after your alma mater...! Trinity, then! It's lovely to meet you, at last -- Trinity...! ha!

Eh, not really, Trinity...! I mean, I'm Catholic, so of course the name of your alma mater appeals to me...! The Holy Trinity and all, you know.... heh... Sorry!

I know a thing or two about Catholics. My parents hated them.

Indeed? And... what do you know of my religion, out of curiosity? think there's quite a lot of... misinformation out there, really. I mean, so long as you don't hate me...!

Well, I'm afraid I don't know what the "normal amount" of knowledge IS for a beautiful young woman who looks so much like a girl I had a crush on...! who attended a school NAMED Trinity College...!

Trinity is in Dublin, my parents were from Belfast. That should give you a hint.

Ah...! I see...! Yes, I definitely see, now... I'm sorry for all the crimes committed

No, no, I'll write this out, after all: I'm so sorry for the whole mess with the IRA - I mean even though I'm an American, and wasn't even BORN when the Troubles began... Well, I'm still very sorry for all that you may have suffered...!

I grew up in London, really. Never paid much attention to any of that.

Indeed, I was, Trinity, ma'am! I mean, I know it doesn't make much sense, but... well. All the same, I WAS still suffering from my cancer... which had spread from my leg to my brain -- and then, well... I died, obviously, but... Well, I suppose this is just karmic cleansing of some sort, to continue to suffer it in Heaven, or Hell, or Purgatory, or - whatever this place may be...! I'm still not sure, even though I've been here close on a month...!

You really think this might be Purgatory?

Honestly? I don't know what to think, anymore...! I mean, I've been here a good month, and there's something... strange about this island, and the way it keeps pulling people into it...

I mean, of COURSE Purgatory would have to do that, just to keep up with all the people who die every day, but -- well... I don't know...! I honestly juts... don't! I'm sorry, if that scares you at all, ma'am, but - well... it's all I've got, really!

((Ooc: Sorry to have ran off on you in the middle of this FASCINATING discussion, but... well, my hubby was home, and I had to make dinner for him, and then Spend Some Quality Time with him...! lol!))

Well... that's good, I suppose...!

You really do not frighten easily, do you? I mean, I told you I had a terminal cancer, and whereas most people gingerly offer me sympathy and then run away, you -- well, you managed to make... not such a big deal out of it really!

And then the Purgatory talk we just had...

You are an extraordinary woman, if I may say so....!

I don't believe in empty sympathy. I have no right to tell you I'm sorry you're dying and no right to tell you that the consequences of your death are somehow more interesting or important than how you're living right now.

That and we all die someday, don't we?

....

I-indeed, I suppose that is true enough...!

I mean haven't we already died, to end up here? Well, I think I agree with you, about empty sympathy and such as...!

And... what do you mean, the consequences of my death are more interesting than the way I'm living now...? How can you even know of what the consequences of my death may be?

I meant the fact you're dying.
