I am weary. And I grieve for all those who have lost one dear to them, or who sit by the bedside of their loved ones and pray for healing that may or may not come. I have lost my son once, and I fear now that I must bear his death a second time. I do not know if I can bear such a thing.

Why must men always fight? What comes of it in the end but loss and despair?

All of my children, all of them, and my husband lost to me. And for what?

My heart is sore.

Will I? I think I will not, my lord. There are some griefs from which one does not recover, even if ones' spirit does not depart for Mandos from the pain. You underestimate my love for you and our children if you think my healing will be so easy.

Of course I honor your bravery, and of course I honor your loss.

But I would rather honor you, standing before me.

Nay I do not think your healing will be so easy. If five centuries was not enough to ease our leaving then a thousand will do no more. But in the end, I think, you would come to a place of acceptance if not happiness.

But do not think on it. Our son will live. I am alive and for now we are blessed.

He seems to be...stronger.

And although I am loathe to admit it, I think Maitimo's presence good for him.

Yes, yes, you are right. We should enjoy our blessings while we may.

Russandol has been a part of our son's life since the day he was born, my lady, they are good for each other. Russandol gives him strength in dark hours and he in turn tames the fiery nature of our nephew.
