What is morality, anyway? How do we decide what is right and what is wrong? Isn't everything relative, really?

You say you do the 'right thing', or that you try to, but how do you judge that? Life is a zero sum game, so everything you do, every step ahead you take hurts somebody. There are winners and losers in everything you do, so who is to say that helping one person is RIGHT if it hurts another?

I say we should all just cast aside the idea of right and wrong. They're stupid ideas.

There are no moral absolutes. But society will always impose a standard; those standards are necessary for civilization, and to avoid anarchy.

But it's an imposed and ever-changing standard, not an absolute one. What is 'right' now may be considered terrible in twenty years. What good is even having a standard if it can't make up its mind?

Society determines what is right, and as society always changes so does its laws. I would deem it.. adaption and flexibility.

So you are comfortable with being ruled by moral laws that won't even stay standard during your lifetime?

No, I am not, but I have little influence to change them and so much change with them. Being hidebound does nothing.

It would be easier if we cast aside such transient rules all together.

Then anarchy would reign.

Oh aye. And the strong would live and the weak would perish.

Is it not the responsibility of the strong to protect the weak?

Why would it be?

What good are the weak, really?

Aye, people. The reason we do not descend into chaos. All beings have inherent worth whether you are strong or weak. There are ideals that are okay for some and okay for others. We live in a society with flexibility to accommodate those ideas. We do not change swiftly or without consideration, as that causes uprising. But change does and will happen whether your morals or beliefs are aligned with the new order or not.

The weak hold you back. That is all they do. It is better if the gene pool be cleared of them. If you have nothing to contribute, you have no right to use supplies that could be feeding someone who does.

If you begin there then there is no stopping point. And one day you too will find yourself 'weak' and you too will be gone. There is no right and no wrong, and no better or no worse. Therefore by what do you judge yourself?

What makes your worth higher than another? Your abilities? Your position? Disposable. Replaceable. Changeable. There is nothing that makes one better than another.

Strength. And strength alone. If you are strong enough to survive, then you do. If you are not, you fall. It is that simple.
