What is morality, anyway? How do we decide what is right and what is wrong? Isn't everything relative, really?

You say you do the 'right thing', or that you try to, but how do you judge that? Life is a zero sum game, so everything you do, every step ahead you take hurts somebody. There are winners and losers in everything you do, so who is to say that helping one person is RIGHT if it hurts another?

I say we should all just cast aside the idea of right and wrong. They're stupid ideas.

Really? It isn't as if all humans are beautifully moral as you put it. There are all sorts of different levels of humans, good to bad on your scale. There are even some you call amoral. So why can you not all simply be amoral?

Because some of us get off on helping others. For some it's all they know.

But if you get off on it, then it's not altruistic at all. It's selfish. You're doing it for your pleasure, not theirs. So is it really good?

So what?

Whether people believe it's altruistic or not, it's mutually beneficial.

So basically what you're saying is that the end justifies the means. Doesn't matter what your intentions are, as long as you do the "right" thing in the end.
