This place is strange. The people here are strange.

And aye, if you think I'm talking about you, I probably am.

Also, mortals whine a lot.

And they seem to die and get sick a lot, too.

Damnit I want to be angry with you. You're making it hard.

But yeah, Dads... I did what I could for him after my Mum left. I think I spoilt him and my brothers. They were so insufferable sometimes. Seriously, who spells arsenal wrong? Where does say a K should even fit in there?

I know that pain. My mother did not come with us when we left the Blessed Lands for Middle-earth.

My mum just got tired of us. And just... poof, was gone. We were at school, my Dad was at work. We came home and all her stuff was gone. She didn't even leave a note. My Dad couldn't cope. I had to be the grown up.

That's a difficult burden to bear, especially for one so young. You should not have had to do it, but for what reasons did your mother leave, I wonder. My father also lost his mother, too. She was the first of our kind to experience death, and by the laws and customs of our people, she will never be permitted to return to life.

Aye, but they weren't going to do it. So... It's better that I did, so only I suffered rather than my brothers.

Wow, that's very harsh. Why did she want to stay a ghost?

Aye, that is the right of the oldest siblings, and the duty as such. We must care for our brothers and sisters.

My father is the mightiest of the elves to be born. It is said there will never be another like him, and so his mother's body and spirit were consumed in the bearing of him. She could not find the strength to remain and desired to be released from life everlasting, as there was no strength left to her. She died of her own will and knows peace in the Halls of Waiting until the end of time.

But my father's grief is eternal, and he will never forgive those that so marred his family.

I miss them. I don't care that they made me mad enough to spit sometimes. They're off living their lives without me. Decky... He has a shrine to me in the livingroom. I saw him salute it before going off to school... I don't know what to think of these memories. I didn't leave here. I just woke up, and I don't sleep, and they were there.

My Dad wasn't any of that. He was... Is a big bear of a man. With a heart of gold. My Mum... I don't know why she left. It's one of my bucket list items that probably wont ever get crossed off. Find her, haunt her, and ask why.

So does that mean... What does that mean? He's going to raise hell when it's his turn?

Life is in memories, and though it pains us to be so sundered rest knowing they remember you. Better that you have good memories of them and they of you with an unfinished story. Cherish them. Such things are precious.

As for your questions, aye. The why shall haunt you forever, as surely as you haunt other places. But do not be burdened. You are grown.

My father has made his legacy; it is a legacy of blood, and for five hundred years my brothers and I have led his war. Much to our ruin and despair.

I suppose you're right. I just don't like the idea of being able to watch my baby brother grow old, get married, and dying. All without being able to let him know I'm there.

I'm dead, I wouldn't say I'm grown. I'm only twenty-two. Which is slightly depressing now that I think of it. Eternally twenty-two.

Why didn't you just tell him no? Rebel? Runaway?

You should speak to my cousin's daughter, Idril. She married a mortal man, and she must also lose him and her son to age. I think you may be able to comfort each other in that regard.

And now you have no choice but to grow, given your experiences. You must adapt, and with time comes wisdom.

A wisdom that we certainly lacked at the time. I swore an oath with my brothers and it is an oath that cannot be broken. And it will pursue oathtaker to world's end.

Yeah? He's the one that looks like Thor, isn't he? Not... that you know who Thor is.

Aye, I know. I've already learned more on my own, than I did with the ghost that I was introduced to right after I died. I mean I can walk through solid walls, and er... coffins. Not that I want to repeat the experience.

What sort of oath? Is it like ones doctors take when they become doctors?

We swore to Eru to pursue any creature, great or small, living or dead that should exist now or ever, with vengeance and hatred to the world's end if they should keep from us from our birthright. Be it Elf, Vala, Man, or Demon.

Freedom from the gilded cages of those who would keep us in thralldom. And recovering silmarils; the works of my father's hands and heart. They are three jewels with the light of the Two Trees inside them. The recovering of those jewels will see my grandfather's murder avenged, and my father's death given purpose.

I am not cruel in nature. You are being kind, and polite, and so you have earned my kindness in turn and we are having an interesting conversation as a result.

A good man can have wrath.

Perhaps a good man's wrath is even more feared.

Wait, your grandfather was murdered? By who?

I actually started out being a bit of an arse. You made it a bit difficult to keep with that.

The Morgoth - he is called the Deceiver. He cut down my grandfather, Finwë the High King of the Noldor, like wheat before the scythe in our own home. And from our iron vaults he stole the jewels and bore them away to Middle-earth. The Valar would not see such injustice corrected, so we saw to it ourselves. As is the right of sons.

And aye, you did. But it reminded me too much of my brothers to take you seriously.

Has anyone seen it... I mean, I know there are a few of you from different points in time. Did you win?

My brother Ryan did say that I acted too much like a bloke with tits, for my own good. So they behave badly on purpose to then?

I have not asked. I am afraid of knowing, I think. We have a doom upon our heads that will see us fail, despite our hopes otherwise.

And aye. I have 6 brothers, and we all burn with my father's spirit. Strong willed, stubborn and determined as ever to see things done our way. To varying degrees, of course.

You may have met my brother Curufin while he lived here on the island. He is my 5th brother, the youngest of us save the twins who follow after him.

I suppose I can understand that. I can't say I want to know much about the future myself.

Not just for the giggles then?

Oh, no. I don't think I did. I don't often... There are still things I'm getting used to? Me and electronics don't always get on. Especially when I'm feeling a wee bit emotional. And for a while I was hearing voices in the static. So I missed out on a whole lot of people.
