[Filtered against Merry]
Hobbits are wonderfully delightful creatures. Lord Glorfindel told me some about them and I find it most remarkable that such tiny creatures have such strength and will inside them.

Merry's agreed to exchange stories of our descendents, Elenwë, for the building of his home. And so I have a new project! It has been a long time since I have been able to put my skill to use.

Though I have never built a Hobbit Hole, before.

Indeed hobbits DO seem to be amazing creatures, truly, milord...! The very words he puts upon the screen seem to make it... glow with a special light, if you get my meaning? Honestly, I think he's just a ray of sunshine in our lives...!

But this talk of projects and such reminds me: when might you wish to come to the forest with me, to cut the wood you need from the tree which... I selected, or which selected ME, either-or...! I mean, they say the wand chooses the wizard (or witch, as well!) and thus... well, I'd like to think that tree chose ME...! Heh! Sorry, that probably sounds rather... fanciful to you, milord.

You need but point it out to me, Auror Selwyn, then my kinswoman and I will bring the wood forth.

Indeed? Bring it forth, how, exactly? All right, then, but I... would have to take you into the forest again, to be sure it was the right tree, after all, milord...! I mean, I can't merely say "that linden tree by the creek!" because A) there was no creek anywhere near my chosen tree, and B) I'm not sure it's even a Linden...! I sort of... deliberately failed out of Herbology, back in school! Heh! (Sorry!)

Certainly. When you are prepared, Auror Selwyn.

Indeed? Well... I wouldn't want to tear you away from your wife, now... but... I am ready to set out - y'know, whenever...!

And please... just call me "Mary", milord...! I don't need any grand title!

Very well, in the morning three hours after the sun rises, Auror Selwyn.

My husband is not tied to my side, dear. Take him, if you will, just be sure that you bring him back when you are finished.

Then you'll be content to find the flowers on your own?

Ah! Then go. Find the flowers and I shall join the lady in the Woods. We'll meet after and lay the plans for Merry's Hobbit Home.

I shall not pick them, though. But I shall find them and take you to see them later, or perhaps - yes, I shall take my sketch book and draw them for you.

Enjoy yourself, meldanya. Tenn' enquetielva!

Take the sketch book, and paint for me the reality of each bloom.

I will. Although Yavanna is a thousand times the artist I am, when it comes to flowers.

Aye!

But I think perhaps we are judging ourselves too harshly if we judge ourselves by their standards.
