Greetings.

The sun is bright and warm here, and I have rested well. I should now like to have some questions answered, if there are any here with the wisdom to do so.

I am called Findekáno. I am the eldest son of Ñolofinwë, grandson of Finwë, and I am the High King of the Ñoldor in Beleriand. As I stood on the battlefield prior to arriving here, I am grieved and concerned at what may befall my men in my absence. How do I return? What fell power has brought me here?

Edit: I am told that I may be better known by my Sindarin name, Fingon, and my father by his, Fingolfin.

	Ilúvatar first created the Eldar, the Elves, immortal within the life of Arda. Then he created the Edain, the Atani, who received a special gift in that their lives were not tied to Arda, but in death escaped the confines of the world, and go to where we know not. Ahh, I see now...! Then, yes, I AM a second-born child.of Ilúvatar... although... I strongly suspect that THIS is exactly where we end up when we die...! Though... I'm afraid that still wouldn't explain what all you Elvish lot are doing here, too! If your lives are tied to the fate of Arda, and this definitely isn't Arda...

I mean, forgive me, milord, for speculating on the greater design, about which I know nothing.

Indeed? But.. surely you have SOME amount of wisdom, milord, in order to manage to actually Lead men into battle...! I mean, in my time, which is - several centuries ahead of yours, I'll reckon - well, anyhow, in my time, there are some very brave people, aye, but... also some very CLEVER people, too, and as you can imagine, the clever ones were the ones who led the... not-so-clever yet brave ones, ~~especially~~ even in wartime...!
