Interesting way to introduce yourself.

I find drinking heavily's often a winner.

Interesting? How so?

I guess things haven't changed that much then.

It's just I don't generally introduce myself in terms of who I'm fucking that's all.

I like to think alcohol's a constant source of comfort.

I'm used to people knowing me as "Roger's girlfriend". It's the way it's been since we were teenagers. I don't have a problem with it.

Seriously? Because it'd make me want to punch people.

He's a rockstar. I'm a photographer. He's great and I just follow and document it. I don't need people to know who I am but I want them to remember him.

You're winding me up, aren't you?

No. We come as a pair, always have, but I'm not going to fool myself into thinking that his fans know me as anything except Roger's girlfriend. That doesn't lessen who I am, it's just the way it is.

You made it sound more like everyone thinks of you that way, that's all.

I have my own friends too. But we usually meet people together and people always seem to remember the rock star "and his girlfriend".

I just find that a bit sad. But then I'm more likely to be remembered as the pissed and sweary one, so maybe I shouldn't talk.

Sad? I don't think it's sad.

Think about it: every time you see a really awesome photograph of a rock star, or read an amazing article, do you remember who wrote it or took it? No. But you remember the picture or what the article said. And that stays with you forever. Every time you hear that rock star sing or play or see them on tv, you remember that picture or article and remember how it made you feel. And that's me. People remember what I do, not my name. And that's fine with me. Because, in the end, it's what people feel that's real, not what they can and can't remember.

Yeah I got that, which is why I said I found it sad.

Yeah actually, sometimes. Are you familiar with Anton Corbijn? Incredible photographer. Anyway that's a completely different thing, I'm not really seeing the connection to the relationship aspect.

Are you kidding? He's one of my idols. He's one of the reasons I love using monochromes.

You know what, it doesn't even matter. The point is, I'm new here. And I don't know anyone. But Roger does. And he's the only connection I have to anything here.

Then there's your answer, from a layperson no less.

Right, sorry. I just kind of hate that whole being defined by a man bollocks. I'm sure you'll make more, with less angry people.

Okay. True. But that's a very rare case. Most people, in the street, just see pretty pictures and decide they like them without ever knowing who was behind the camera.

I'm not defined by him. I just don't stand in the spotlight. I'm the one at the back of the scene, with half her head out of shot, watching and taking it all in.

People are often shallow idiots.

It was just your initial choice of words, okay?

They really are. Especially when it comes to fame.

Well now you know.
