I am feeling much better this week, thanks to Mr. Connor and Methos, and I am finding myself very bored and restless. I agree that we could all use a little fun, but I don't know if the pub is the place where I'd be comfortable doing that.

Maybe, if it's okay with Connor and Methos, we could have a little dinner party at our place? I would be glad to cook.

I would be glad to do that, truly.

Good. Then you can have fun laughing at my atrocious accent.

I will try not to laugh too much.

I'll try not to laugh too much at your accent when you try to speak Gaelic so it'll be mutual.

Oh, but you will see, my accent will be perfect.

Of course it will, my mistake. How could it be otherwise?

I'm glad you're feeling more like yourself again.

I must have been terribly sick. I am glad I am better too.

So sick I thought you'd died. I don't think I've been happier to be wrong in my life.

I am glad you were wrong, too. I'm not ready to die yet. My life feels like it is just now beginning.

That's because it is. You're not even out of your teens yet, you have your whole life ahead of you to do whatever you want.

Remember you are your own person here, not your father's, not your 'masters', certainly not mine or Methos. You are the mistress of your fate.

It is...hard to believe that sometimes. But I know that you're right.

I'll simply have to keep repeating it until you don't find it hard to believe.

Sometimes I'm scared that being so free could be very lonely.

Only if you let it. I don't plan on going anywhere, and if I ever get a choice to return to New York City you're welcome to come with me.

I'm sure you would. New York is one of the great cities of the world in my time and has been for well over a century, you could probably find representatives of every nation and culture on the planet living somewhere in its boundaries.

Ah, like Athens, perhaps?

May I fix you something for dinner tonight? I am quite restless.

In a way, the largest difference would be that it isn't the political capital of the country. In every other way that matters though I'd say it is even more influential than Athens was in its day.

If you want to, please go ahead.

Whatever you want to cook would be fine with me. I'm just happy to see you up and about.
