It's a day set aside to celebrate anyone who's given birth, or have adopted a child or been adopted by a child, and sometimes animals, as a mother figure.

It is usually a tradition for gifts and cards to be given. Cupcakes are just miniature cakes.

There are other gift giving holidays. And there's father's day, but it's more about yardwork stuff, and less about cake and cards and flowers.

It's not really this place, it's Earth I guess. With all the earth people being here they carry their complicated traditions with them.

It is an unusual way to meet. This form of communication is still strange to me. It seems like magic. Like some sort of strange incantation. I have a feeling it would fascinate my dear brother. A great deal about this place would interest him deeply.
