How do you know if someone is real or a Polyjuice Man?

Yeah, they used that as well. Do you know what Television is?

I've been learning about magic since I was five. I can help you, if you want?

Wait... We haven't introduced ourselves. Hey. I'm Reeve Adler.

Is Television how you can say spectacles in Latin?

I've been learning magic since I was four!

How do you do Mr Adler? I am Sirius Black.

Uh.... Maybe? I'm not very fluent in Latin. But that's not what I'm talking about.

Awesome! I'm 21 right now, maybe I can help you a bit.

Doing grand, bud. But it's Reeve. Mr. Adler is my father.... Haha, kidding, my Dad's name is Blank.

Learning Latin helps you get better at magic. What are you talking about then?

Do you mean you want to call you Mr Reeve Adler? If you don't like that I can just say sir.

Do... You need a language to use magic?

I'm talking about movies, shows, entertainment.

Reeve works, my friend. Please, just call me Reeve. No need for formalities like that.

Yes, for the incantations! Do you not use them?

I have been to see plays before. My favourite is The Portly Ghost.

Isn't that rude because you're my elder?

No, the form of magic I use doesn't call for incantations. My grandparents have another form of 'magic' that uses Dragon words, though.

Heh. It's funny, my mom's a ghost. But, hey come meet me at my dad's theater. I'll show you some movies. [Gives directions]

I guess? But, I'm not really one for etiquette. But please, just call me Reeve.

What are dragon words? Are they like roars?

Oh I am sorry she died. I have to ask my uncle if I can go there. I'm not alowed to go on my own.

Kind of, yeah? You'd have to ask them, to be honest.

What? No, no... My mom is a ghost. Why does every.... Gods, no, I know. It's hard to explain. But, she isn't dead. She's a ghost, and my dad is human. It's a whole thing.

And yeah, bring your uncle, it's all good!

The word television comes from Ancient Greek τῆλε (tele) 'far', and Latin visio 'sight'.

I thought so! It is out of video videre - to see, isn't it? But I thought it was wrong to mix up Latin and Greek like that.

It's very common in the English language, to borrow from the classics and mix them all up like that. It's good to have a smattering of Greek as well, although Latin is more important where you are from and for your particular needs.

I think at school the oldest boys can learn Greek if they are very clever but you have to be very very good at Latin first. I learn about Greek wizards when I study arithmancy instead!
