How do you know if someone is real or a Polyjuice Man?

Yes please. How do you know if there's a Polyjuice Man?

Are there any little bottles or vials sitting around, or maybe a clump of loose hair? Or, is the person drinking something regularly? You have to drink it every hour, right?

Who is being a polyjuice man?

All the potion bottles are in his study and I'm not alowed in there.

Uncle Arcturus is suddenly very old and being suspisius saying Siri you don't have to eat vegetabels if you don't want and we can skip arithmancy lessons and play outside. I think it is not him. Maybe something bad happened to my real uncle and we have to save him!

Ah, okay. No, that's your uncle. I was talking to him earlier.

This place is a bit magic, and it likes to change things around sometimes. The first time I spoke to your uncle, it had made me be six years old. And a few weeks after that, I was nineteen. I think that was when you arrived. But then it stopped, and I'm back to being myself again.

I have never heard of that sort of magic. Mr O'Hara can you answer a question please? When you came to our house and you had the words for La Bamba who came with you?

Yes! Alright I believe you are really Mr O'Hara and I can believe you about my uncle when he passes my other test.

Could somebody here turn really really old, like 120?

Possibly? The oldest it's made me be is 58.

That is quite old. You could be a grandfather if you were 58.

I could. I wasn't, but I could have been, you're right.

Thank you, O'Hara. I should have been more careful about my 'suspicious' behaviour. He's a perceptive boy. Quick-thinking, too.

Not entirely fair, though. Your 'test' is much easier than mine!

No problem.

Yes, the hardest part of my test was getting Mouse to sit for the photo.

You're a clever boy, Siri! You are quite right to think carefully about these things, and I'm glad to know that if I really were in trouble, you'd notice, and you'd know to ask for help.

Ask me anything you like. Any test you can come up with - and I shall take you into the study to look at the potions if that would help.

You can say Costelin's line.

All of it with no mistakes.

You can't recite that without Alright. I'll do that, as creditably as if I had Costelin himself looking over my shoulder. No polyjuiced impostor would go to all that trouble. It takes a long time to learn.
