Hello everyone,

For those of you I haven't met, I'm Hannah Hale. I arrived here yesterday, and I've been told some very remarkable things about this place. It's utterly vast, and I think it would be very easy to get lost and never see anyone. I was told that this was an appropriate place to make introductions. I'm here with my seven children. It's just us. Their father died in the war. Most of them seem to like it here very much, not least because of the size of our living space!

I should also mention that if you have back trouble, or other persistent aches and pains, I'd be happy to treat them. I'm very good at it, and I can guarantee you will notice a difference.

Fitzwilliam for a little girl? That seems cruel of your parents. I'm sorry to hear about your accident, Miss Darcy, but I'm sure I can do something to help your back. You can come by [overly-long description of a station location] whenever you would like.

I should clarify. It is usually Mr Darcy, but the station is playing tricks and I've been stuck as a woman for... goodness, a few weeks now I think.

Thank you.

I don't understand. Are you saying that you are a gentleman who likes to pretend to be a woman on this station? I don't think that's

Not at all. It is one of those remarkable things you speak of. I woke up in the body of a woman a couple of weeks ago, and I haven't turned back to myself yet... oh, I know it sounds ridiculous.

It does. It sounds like a bad joke and I don't believe it for a It's remarkable that we are in space, and that there are so many technological marvels around us. We had nothing close to this in 1920, not remotely.

I'll have you know that I'm a respectable woman and when I say I'll treat your back, that's all I mean. No funny business, whichever sex you really are.

I know, I quite understand. I am from 1813, and you need only ask Commander Shepard to discover how overwhelming I found this place at first. I still do, some days. But the people are generally patient and helpful.

I have no doubt. I have no ulterior motive, I assure you.
