This is tiresome. I am tired of being sent to strange realms. I want to go home.

I do not expect that any of you will be able to assist with that request, so perhaps you will aid me in a smaller one. I do not wish to live in a suite of muggle rooms powered by muggle electricks and with a view of open space that reminds me how perilously close I am to certain death.

Is there a real house anywhere? A house alone, preferably in a field of real grass? I am not in a position to be demanding. A cottage would do. Even a barn. I do not know who owns the land here, such as it is, but I can pay in the muggle dollars.

I have found someone who will assist me with creating something suitable, and until then I'll camp in the park. I don't mind camping.

Do you usually drop into conversation with a new chap the fact that muggle explosives fall on his homeland? I already know that the future is utterly wretched and the end of civilisation is on its way, but most others from my time wouldn't. Would you do me a favour, sir? If some other fellow from my century comes through, be careful about it? Seeing this place is enough of a shock as it is.

My apologies. If there's one thing I've learned about this place though, we might not even be from the same version of Earth. As strange as that sounds. Our timelines could be very different.

Don't fret. It isn't your fault, it's only natural to speak of what's ordinary at home. Perhaps our timelines are different, but I've never been quite comfortable with that notion. A person's actions can change the future, but in doing so they cause others not to exist, because there is only one Britain, no matter how many revisions of the timeline people attempt. It's all rather complicated.
