This is tiresome. I am tired of being sent to strange realms. I want to go home.

I do not expect that any of you will be able to assist with that request, so perhaps you will aid me in a smaller one. I do not wish to live in a suite of muggle rooms powered by muggle electricks and with a view of open space that reminds me how perilously close I am to certain death.

Is there a real house anywhere? A house alone, preferably in a field of real grass? I am not in a position to be demanding. A cottage would do. Even a barn. I do not know who owns the land here, such as it is, but I can pay in the muggle dollars.

	I am from the world called Earth. Did your parents come from there? Are you a muggle? I think that the society here functions in a way very different to that I am used to. You are a Black! So am I! Genevieve Elena Weasley-Black is my full name. Maybe we are related. I don't know much about my family though. My parents died when I was very young.

You are very good with the muggle technology for the age you are coming from. You must be quite clever.

It might be. Where I am from, we had no other choice but to help each other. If we hadn't, someone very nasty would have won.

~~Weasley? Really? At least they are pureblood.~~ I expect that you are right and we are very distant kin. I am terribly sorry about your parents. I do know the Weasley family; they are decent and upstanding people. Do you recollect the names of your mother and father?

Naturally I know that it is wrong to have anything to do with muggle technologies, but when my father last wrote to me he said that when you are alone in a strange land you must do what is necessary to stay safe, so I daresay he would forgive me in this instance.

Then you aren't from this society? I say, you aren't talking about that wretched Dark Lord, are you?

Dominique Weasley and Sirius Black. My grandparents from mother's side were Bill and Fleur Weasley. I've never really met them though. I'm part veela from my grandmother's side. But I don't think there is much left.

There is a lot of good muggle technology around. Just look at where you are! Among the stars, all without magic!

Not quite, it was something like a parallel timeline to this. Dark Lord? Do you mean Voldemort? I have heard of him. He seems terrible. No regard for life.

I have met Sirius, as it happens. Presuming it is the same fellow and not another by that name. It seems likely, under the circumstances. How strange to think that he ended up here! He is my brother's several-times great-grandson. I wish now that we had been closer, so that I might tell you more about him, but he never had much time for me.

~~Now you sound like Sirius.~~ There is magic here. A great deal of it. I have even seen sigils on the walls. If I really were lost among the stars with nothing but muggle machines to protect me I would lose my mind, and you will have to trust me when I say that I am not at all of a nervous disposition. But I'd go mad with the fear. Locking me away in Azkaban would be less of a cruelty. For the sake of my pride I shan't tell you just how I was until I became aware of the ambient magic here, but you might imagine it.

Yes. I cannot write his name, for...complicated reasons. I have not met him, but I met his thoroughly unpleasant followers. If not him, then what evil were you fighting against?

You have? That's wonderful! But it's okay, I did not grow up with him. I would like to know more about my parents but I gained other families along the way, some are still here.

There are quite a couple of people who can do magic. Most people here are nice but not all the magic here is helpful. But you should talk to the other witches and wizards! Most don't even use a wand. I'm trying to learn it.

It was a man who tried to control us. He had great magical power. I can't even write his name because I don't know it.

Ah, you were adopted? That is fortunate. He and I may have had our differences but I know that he'd want to see his child well looked-after. If you are curious about our history, I do know rather a lot. It's custom for children to be taught to recite the line back to the twelfth century. Naturally I wasn't terribly enthusiastic about that at the time, but it has proved more useful than I guessed.

I'd like that very much! I have met witches and wizards from other lands before, and some of them have very different ways of doing things.

At home I only had evil muggles to worry about. It's horrid to think that there are evil wizards out there too. Did you defeat him?
