Dan suggests I have to ask you all what music do you like?

I’m sure the last thing I’ve known was Bellini. You have much to teach me.

Yes, you really overwhelm me.

It's incredible. I have not listened to everything yet, it will take time, but I wanted to thank you. It's very different I can not recognise half of the instruments involved. The voices are very real. True. Not the forced melodramatic emotion of opera.

Always glad to be of service. If you like anything in particular let me know, I can find you more like it.

I think it helps that, most of the time, the people who perform this kind of music are the ones who wrote it. I guess it's easier to make the emotional connection when you're the one who felt the emotions.

There are some really great videos too, if you want to see any of the performers and how they play. This one is really well known.

Once I have worked my way through all the recommendations here, I certainly know who to go to for more.

Yes, well the operas are generally a fiction, or based on some myth. This sounds more personal, as you say. I am surprised some of them are not prohibited. Things are generally more liberal, it seems.

It is incredible. I can watch a concert without moving. He forgot his shirt

I used to decide which music went on the radio, it was my job before I was a comedian, so I got to know a lot of it.

Some songs are too. David Bowie used to write whole stories through his albums, but it's still pretty different.

But most countries have laws now, protecting people's rights to say what they want to. It's called freedom of speech in America, you can't be arrested or prosecuted on your words alone. It's not total freedom, you could sti be like, fired from your job or might get punched in the face if you say something people dont agree with, but the government cant stop you.

Yeah, there are all sorts of things you can watch.

I would ask what a radio is, but I'm boring myself now. Something you play music on, I suppose.

I know what freedom of speech is. We won that at the last revolution - at least, in theory. It's in Déclaration des droits de l'homme. You can have your opinions, and speak about them, write about them, publish them - as long as... you don't abuse this right, and it does not interfere with establishment. Which is total shit, because rights are rights no matter, they are not depending upon fulfilling some imagined responsibility, they are meant to be universal. And if you can only have an opinion that doesn't interfere with establishment, then you aren't allowed an opinion.

Those in power decide what counts as abusing your right, so you can get a boot to the skull for putting up posters, or a gun drawn for refusing to stop... speaking loudly in public. We do not have democracy. Yet.

So I laugh at 'freedom of speech'. I'm sorry. I lack the right words to explain properly in this language.

It does get a little better. Governments always find ways to do what they want to do, but it's not as easy anymore. And thank fuck for that, or I'd be in jail.

Good. I’m glad or it was all for nothing
