[Private to Luke Castellan]

Mr. Luke, sir, I know you spoke to me when I first arrived here, but I was very confused and frightened, and I am afraid I didn't give you the time and attention I should have. You say you knew...a different version of me? I should like to get to know you, sir, and hear about her, if you would.

[Private to Methos]

Thank you for your hospitality in allowing me to stay with you when I knew not where I was, and was confused about arriving here. I am staying in room 2301 with Mr. Connor now. I do hope you will stop by on occasion?

[Private to Future!Peter]

I wanted to let you know that I am staying in room 2301, with Mr. Connor. I do hope that we can meet again soon. I enjoyed speaking to you over dinner the other night. It has been a long time since a man has listened to me when I spoke. I do hope that you are finding...at least some sort of peace here.

[Private to Bridget]

I wanted to thank you for looking out for me when I arrived here, but I do hope you know that I am not an innocent, wilting flower who needs at all times to be protected. We are from different times, yes, but I assure you that I most certainly have no desire to be controlled by a man ever again.

[PUBLIC]

Since I have arrived here, people have told me again and again about the 'women's rights' movement, and spoken of 'women's lib'. Could someone explain to me what that is, and how it affects me?

You're welcome.

I'm Grey, and a big fan of the whole female liberation thing. If I can help at all, since it seems mostly men have replied to you, not that Malc doesn't know what he's talking about, but I figure a female contributor couldn't hurt.

Yes, it seems that most of the people who talk to me in this place are men. I don't know why that is. I should like to have some female friends as well.

Is everything they have said correct?

Yeah, I wonder if maybe they're attempting to make up for their species? I could do with some friend myself actually, if you can bear me, not a lot of people can.

It is, but it's also ignoring a number of issues - nothing's ever that simple. Narrow minded, old fashioned bigots will always exist and have a very traditional idea of women's roles in life, but they don't matter. You do what you want and if anyone has an issue it's there problem.

Oh and if you're going to pick up magazines or anything around here - the media likes to make women hate themselves so they spend money. That's capitalism and it doesn't matter here because there's no money. You do what you want.

I don't mind looking after men. There's something very comforting about it. And they aren't always so good at looking after themselves. But I also don't want to be forced to do it anymore. I have some...unhappy things in my past.

If that's what you want to do, do it. Some people might suggest it's not on, but if it gives you comfort that's a good thing, especially in this place. And yeah, men can't be trusted to look after themselves, they're all basically children. I noticed that, sorry.

I think a good guide would be to offer to look after anyone you see fit to, if you want to. The only thing you have to remember is that it's up to you. You're under no obligation to look after anyone but yourself.

I'm trying to accept that, yes. I like taking care of people, though. It makes me feel useful, and few things make me feel that way here.

well then, like I said that's what you should do. I think here it can be quite helpful to stick with something you know, something normal and familiar, cos lets face it this place is neither of those things.
