I hope I am not bothering anyone by posting this, but I am concerned over things that have happened tonight and thought I would ask. I know I am from a very different time than the rest of you, but it appears that I am not quite sure how things work here.

Is it considered wrong now to offer hospitality?

In my day, it was a great wrong to be inhospitable to someone who was in your land, or in your kingdom. Wars were caused - and averted - by such things. And yet, when I offered hospitality to a troubled man tonight I was insulted grievously. Have I done wrong? I hope I do not now live in a world where it is considered improper to be hospitable and kind to a fellow traveler.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with offering kindness- in fact, I'm glad that you did. I would have, myself, but had other things I needed to take care of.

I'm sorry that others spoke so harshly to you about it.

I only wanted him to feel welcome, and as if he were not alone. And he needed something warm to eat; men are always nicer when they've had something to eat.

I understand that completely! With two brothers at home, I've discovered the same myself.

It definitely doesn't mean that I want him in my bed, as Miss Bridget suggested.

I would never have thought you would. I do believe it's quite possible that men and women can behave in a friendly manner without thinking about what the other looks like naked. Believe me, if you weren't, I'd probably be offering to bring him food myself.

He looks very much like your beloved, does he not?

He does, aside from the scar. They're supposed to be the same person, but from two different worlds.

That must be very strange for you.

A little? Only they're so different that I'm still..I'm not looking at this new Peter the way I look at mine.

I don't think he's nearly as bad as people say, though. He was not unkind to me.
