I hope I am not bothering anyone by posting this, but I am concerned over things that have happened tonight and thought I would ask. I know I am from a very different time than the rest of you, but it appears that I am not quite sure how things work here.

Is it considered wrong now to offer hospitality?

In my day, it was a great wrong to be inhospitable to someone who was in your land, or in your kingdom. Wars were caused - and averted - by such things. And yet, when I offered hospitality to a troubled man tonight I was insulted grievously. Have I done wrong? I hope I do not now live in a world where it is considered improper to be hospitable and kind to a fellow traveler.

Please, call me Tony. As I used to say, Mr. Stark was my father.

You have the right to tell someone no just as much as the next person. And it is entirely up to you whether or not you are with someone in any way. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Your body is yours and yours only. No one has a right to make you do anything you don't want to do.

I should have liked to say no, but they would have beaten me...or even killed me and faced no consequences. For Achilles, after all, I was only a spoil of war. A prized one, perhaps, but I had monetary value like all his other prizes. And I would have been worth far less if I had been disobedient. So I did as I was told and tried to imagine I was somewhere else. When he died...just before I came here...I could not help but weep, for while I did not love him, Achilles did not beat me often, and I knew not what would become of me in the hands of the next man who possessed me. But now I am here...and perhaps I will be able to possess myself.

I'm really sorry you had to go through that. You lived in a terrible time when women were considered nothing more than possessions used to cook meals and bear children. I've always hated that there was a time like that. And there are still cultures that feel that way.

Every human being is equal to each other. No one has the right to possess anyway. Here, you are free to do as you choose, within reason of course, without fear of punishment. Please don't let anyone tell you that you are not your own person. You deserve a chance to figure out what it is that you want for yourself.

Thank you, and I wish to do so very much. But I am not quite sure how to go about it. It is never something I have tried to do before. But I will continue to try, and make mistakes on my own terms, I suppose.
